La el Collins in the 5,6,7 rounds do you do it?

One of the (many) things I liked (read: drooled over) in Scot's post-draft press conference was his stated emphasis on character guys, and guys who completed the promise they made to attend school for four years. The older I get, the more value I see in that kind of approach. It's really hard to measure that, and it doesn't show up in box scores or advanced metrics, but I want those guys on my team.

Any team, really. Football, work, family, etc. Personally, I'm drawn to that kind of person, and while I would root for the Redskins no matter what, it sure does make it easier to root for them.

Have to hope for either locker room fighting, or for a Romo injury. Their draft was incredible.

3 first round talents. We took one first rounder.

Just have to pray for bad behavior or some kind of a blowup within that organization or we'll be watching them knocking on the door of the SB.

Our best draft in a decade....and you're salty. Mike, come on man. Loosen up a little and enjoy the fact we did well this draft. It's not always about what the other team has or what we could have gotten.

Ok, someone has to ask..."Are you now....or have you ever been......a member of the Cowboynist Party?

ESPN has poisoned your mind McD.

I dislike the cowturds as much as the next guy...but McD5 is right: just like us looking at out draft (i.e., we don't know yet but it looks pretty dang good)...it looks like the boys played their hand well.

No poison from the media. On paper, it's pretty clear. Fortunately, games aren't played on paper though.

You take a team that came within an inch of the NFC Championship Game, add 3 first round players.....and you have a team that should at least make it to the NFC Championship Game this year. On paper, they've widened the gap in the division.

Barring a Romo injury or a meltdown, some combination of Dallas, Seattle and Green Bay has to the the odds-on favorite.

I love what we did in FA. Here's the Skins report card I'd give this offseason:

Free Agency--A+

Draft--Too early to know for sure, but I'll say B+. If BS turns into a tackle, then it moves to A-. If BS is only a guard, and Leonard Williams dominates, then it drops to a B.

Risk Management--D. I'd like to see some more consistency here, and some better decision making.

If McLovin is going to gamble, I want him to gamble where there is big upside. Instead, he chose the equivalent of risking $10,000 to win only $500 in the case of extending RG3. That was a big risk, with very limited gain (the dollars saved by not franchising him if he plays well). That was bad risk management.

On the other hand, McLovin had the chance to risk only $100 (a 7th round pick) with a chance to win $30,000 in the case of Collins. And he didn't take the shot. That too, was poor risk management.

I understand if he wants to be ultra-conservative and steer clear of Collins. Then don't make the RG3 gamble.

I also understand if he wants to take shots where warranted, with the possibility of huge upside and little downside. Then get Collins.

That's not what he did. That's my only complaint.

I guess Collins guarantees the Conboys a Super bowl victory for every year he plays.

The self loathing some of y'all seem to have about our draft class is comical. On paper, everybody got it right but us.

Well, the truth is, pet birds shit, on paper.

**** a Dallas Conboy. Unless they teach everybody on the team the Heimlich Maneuver, they'll be home watching the super bowl again next season.

This reminds me of Philly going all in a couple of years ago. How'd that turn out again?

Jerruh is adding ridiculous amounts of talent, no question. And I'm not sour on Collins, the kid got screwed unfortunately for him. But adding the creeps Dallas has added (compounded with the rumor that he wanted AP or Ray Rice) will hurt their locker room. Chemistry is hard to define, hard to explain, and hard to manipulate. But it's very real, and I'm telling you now: Dallas isn't winning shit this year.

"On paper" remember when we were the off season champs year after year? How did that work out again?

ahemmm...speaking of herd mentality.

you can't get a word in edge-wise in this place without someone questioning loyalty, integrity, etc., etc.

I've been tracking the Skins longer than just about anyone on this board (except for maybe Serv :) ). been through the boys dramas many of you just know about from highlight reels. so please don't play those cards. I don't agree with everything McD5 is arguing - most especially the Griffin argument - but his point about risk threshold is a good one. all he's saying is that theirs is higher than ours and, on paper, it appears that the reward for the high risks could be pretty high. what's controversial about that?

McD5 gets slammed (by me sometimes) for all his gruden homerism. wellllllllll.....how does Gruden get to be a SB winning redskin coach without the rest of us coming along for the ride - in short, he's down with the Skins.

ok...this shouldn't devolve into a "a save the McD5s" thread. he made a point. I say it's time to press to other ideas......

Sorry, but I don't agree with that. The constant doubting, second guessing, downing, and overall "ho hum" attitude normally dictates how someone is spoken to or handled. I get shit for being a huge homer and get told that my reality is skewed due to it. Well, they're normally right. I can't say they don't have the proof to show I'm usually like that.

And your years and years of being a fan are great. That's awesome.

"Lighten up, Fansince" Or was that, Francis? ;)

Speaking for myself, I'll bust the balls of any sumbitch here, what slobbers over roster moves made by the Conboys! Adding criticism of our own boys during the process earns the suspicion of being a Pinko Conboynist Sympathizer, deserving nothing less than public flogging and Fancard castration.

Now, go cleanse your mind with Burgundy & Gold breezes, and 12 Hail To The Redskins.

And if I ever....

bub...attack the ideas...not the person. that's all.

that sometimes seems to be confused at times on this board.

and you are a huge homer....thank God!

Bub...he can defend himself if he cared. That is all.

I will not continue talking to you about someone else who most likely doesn't even care.
