Agree with the eyeball-test, Kirk missing some throws part but just curious as to what you think Cooley's agenda is, something like anti-Griff, brown nosing the organization, what and to what end?

Most around here have trust issues when it comes to opinion that goes off the reservation according to self, nothing new there.
Still doesn't hurt to listen and acknowledge that there might be something of merit.

I find his analyses interesting.....but also know he is a dilettante of sorts; someone who played the organization when it suited his purposes; someone who, IMO, went out of his way to undermine a fellow player

There's literally nothing that Andy Dalton can do that Kirk can't. And Dalton was a pick machine for many seasons. And Cincy's offense was still good.

Wouldn't really say Dalton was a pick machine. His worst INT% actually came last season when he threw an INT on 3.5% of his passes. Even in his rookie year, Dalton only threw an INT on 2.5% of his passes. Kirk's lowest is this current season at 3%.

Dalton's problem has been winning big games in the playoffs. His career regular season record is 46-23-1.

I hear all f the good points being made. I do think fans are too quick to critique QBs in general ignoring the huge impact the other 10 guys on offense play. I think it's possible that Cousins is 'just a guy' but also believe he could be a guy who, if he can improve on his mistakes can be a top 10 QB. His good looks pretty damn good to me.

I don't usually like Cian Fahey (@cianaf), and I find it annoying when people pull out snapshots of All-22 and pretend it paints the whole picture... However, his tweets are a pretty interesting read this morning on the Redskins/Bucs game. He pretty much tears apart both teams and has very little positive to say either way. He praises the Redskins receivers quite a bit, especially for adjusting to poorly thrown balls. However, his take is very different from what a lot of folks have been saying and I think it's worth checking out. His review is in the form of tweets and starts between 10AM & 11AM this morning.

Here are a few tweets that I would call a summary:

That was largely the same game Cousins has played all year. Plenty of mistakes, couple of good plays, mostly simple stuff.

Washington has some really good receivers and the Buccaneers are woefully coached without talent. 29th pass defense by DVOA.

That game is a good example of how we don't focus on the full game. WAS couldn't do anything through first half. But all that is ignored.

That's fine if you're counting wins but if you're evaluating what a player is doing you've gotta measure the whole game.

On Jay Gruden: Always been a fan of him as a play caller. Think he's invested in a bad QB but knows how to get most out of bad QBs.

Question was asked: If your WAS and your the HC do you still draft a QB in 2016 or invest in Cousins in 2016-2017?
His answer: Gotta be looking outside the building.
Cousins isn't good enough and they obviously aren't in on RGIII.

I recommend it... It offers a bit of a different take with some of those annoying snapshots. However, it can't be all wrong.

He wrote 2 articles this summer on why RG3 should be the starter, and on how great Sam Bradford was going to be.

He's pretty stubborn to admit when he's wrong. He still hates Cousins. I was giving him the business last weekend.

Dude, come on. Cousins was dreadful against the Jets. DREADFUL. Awful. Whatever synonym for "crappy" you want to throw out there. It's OK to admit he played like crap. And that play continued for a lot of the first half against TB. Be honest, even you started to question how all this was going to work out around the first Q break, didn't you?

He lit up the Bucs after that, played amazingly well. But that doesn't mean we have to pretend that is the way he's been playing all season long. He's been incredibly inconsistent. He might grow out of it. He might not. We'll see.

Who is Cian Fahey?

That's a hard question to answer. In short, he's an analyst/writer.

He's an interesting guy for sure. Some believe he's the next McVay/Mel Kiper.

He definitely knows a ton about football. But like everyone, he's had some bad picks too.

Here are three interesting anecdotes about him:

1. The second we drafted that incredibly fast RB who never worked out (I can't remember his name) he called it the worst pick of the round. Said he had horrible vision, couldn't block or catch.

2. The second we drafted Breeland, he immediately called him the single best pick of the round.

3. The guy is somewhere below 30 years old, and lives in Europe. He still knows more about the most obscure player on the crappiest team than 99% of analysts you'll ever hear. He must watch 30 hours of football every single day.

Well ok. I sure seems like you're saying that.

But whatever. I hope Cooley is right and I'm wrong. I hope we're somehow just not seeing greatness and it will show itself in spades over the next few months.

But Cousins' final nine games mirror his first seven, I sure hope he gets starter money somewhere else. That's what I'VE been saying this whole time.

Nothing against the young man, but since he's being quoted and treated as some kind of qualified observer ... based on his own bio, I see little reason to take him any more seriously than any other amateur football observer with a computer.
