I thought teams couldn't interview while they were in the playoffs?
Which makes me wonder if Tennessee tampered with San Diego or if maybe they flew out their to interview him?

I think it's ok as long as the position is for a promotion and the team grants permission. I think.

I believe teams can gain permission to speak to assistants while in the playoffs as long as the team that coach currently works for grants it. They cannot hire coaches away who are under contract unless they are given a promotion.
