I'll say it - Suisham got a raw deal.

... he was money in 2009.

Until we needed him in the clutch situations in Dallas and NO. I used to be a kicker and I understand, to a degree, the pressure on his shoulders. I also know that I am responsible for my part on the field and he failed in his responsibility in those 2 games. It has also been said that his kicks were always short. Before Gano started his 1st game, I made a comment about Suisham and his field position on kick-offs where Suisham flat out sucked.

Now, I must say, I agree that others need to be held accountable for their failures throughout the season as well. Laron Landry is just one who should have been benched a long time ago!

Not buying it. You say we didn't deserve to win that game? I say our defense deserved to walk off the field knowing that they played one hell of a game against a top ranked offense and should have put a W on the board.

I'd say allowing the Saints to drive 80 yards in 45 seconds with no timeouts was an example of the defense walking off the field.

it's not that I am not willing to hold others accountable.

it is just that Suisham was on the active roster and his departure cost the team little vis a vis the cap.

It was an easy first move to make.

I agree that similar decisions will need to be made on others such as Portis, Thomas, Betts, Smoot, Sellers, Cartwright, Daniels, and others.

But we need enough players to finish out the season :)

Those decisions will be made after the San Diego game.

I don't understand the need to get rid of Smoot.

Fred seems like a sold vet 3rd corner for this team that probably won't be easy to replace. Is it an age issue? I dont think the team can afford to get rid of ALL its veteran CBs....especially since Rogers may or may not be back.

Bottom line is "that idiot kicker" now plays for Dallas....which means I hope a house falls on him.

Would anyone here REALLY be opposed if we started our housecleaning now? I vote we start with Zorn and Blache. Phillip Rivers is a smug little pee-rick. Without Blache, maybe Jerry Gray will blitz the hell out of him and knock him on his arse a few times, forcing Norvous to take him out. Hey, I'm looking for ANY type of victory I can get my hands on.

For the record, Suisham did not handle kick-off duties for the Cowboys last night.

IMO, Jerry Jones used this opportunity to "poke a stick" in the Redskins' eye. It wouldn't surprise me if Suisham is not invited to their training camp next year.

Suisham nailed the (no-pressure) 23-yard attempt last night, but the Cowgirls obviously didn't trust him much further than they could throw him, based on going for it on 4th down so many times.

Cundiff didn't handle kickoff duties either, the girls have a specialist for that.

I was making a reference to the Cowgirls game where he missed 2 FG's and our D held the 4th ranked offense in the NFL to 7 points shutting them out for 95% of the game, but what about the stop the D made right after Campbell threw the INT to Vilma in the NO game? I know, I know they couldn't get it done in OT against the Saints offense after the Sellers fumble, but you can only ask a defense to do so much against the top ranked offense in the NFL.

In the Saints game, we had been doing what we needed to do to win that game until Suisham missed that FG. In the Dallas game our D deserved to walk off the field with a win. Even if our offense had not played that greatly they got us in FG position 4 times.

I was in the same exact spot in the Dream Seats at that end of the field for that kick as the Saints missed FG and all I could think about was here we go, a different team, a different (No clutch) situation and he makes it with ease. That just seems to be the way the ball has bounced for us all year.

Suisham should have been fired by the end of the season with all the other players not getting the job done so it didn't matter when.

If you noticed, Dallas didn't want to use him much either. He didn't do KOs like he did here and when Dallas had an opportunity to kick longer FGs, they chose to go for it on 4th and 1.

Doesn't say much about Suisham.

Is there an echo in here? :p

I think it says more about Dallas ego - cause they're SO darn physical and all - than it does about confidence in Suisham's leg :)

Dallas media asked Wade about the specifically today in his presser and whether he didn't trust Suisham. He said in pre-game warm-ups, with the wind, that was out of Suisham's range last night so his choice was punt or go for it. He claims there was never a thought of FG under the circumstance and trusting Suisham had nothing to do with it.

At least for those of us in Hampton Roads might have a reason to watch the Dallas/Philly game this Sunday.... to see if Suisham can be a clutch kicker in this leage if it comes down to the Cowpukes needing a field goal to win... :)

I'd be curious to know if this was Zorn or Vinny's call? I know Zorn said it was his decision, but wonder if there was pressure from above.

After today's performance one has to wonder if Suisham's time in Dallas is up.....

It may be masochistic, but I smiled with each Suisham miss....

I smiled too. And I'd say yeah, he probably punched his ticket out of Dallas today.

I'm not convinced Wade Phillips is safe either. A wildcard win, given the talent the Cowboys have, is expected. The Cowboys got a beatdown today. Period. I will be surprised if Jerry Jones can live with that.
