My love and tenure for, and with this team will not let me root for them losing. I will root hard every Sunday or Monday moving forward because fuck the other 31 teams in the NFL!! If we lose so be it, helps with draft position,,but if we win I'll be happy!! Hail!!

Tank hard, and clean house.

No one remembers if we beat Dallas or Philly in some meaningless game 4 years ago.

Maybe not, but I remember a lot of top 5 picks like Desmond Howard, Heath Shuler, RG3, Brandon Scherff, and Chase Young.

Really the only one I remember getting right was Trent Williams. The jury is still out on Jayden. I think he’ll be great if he can stay healthy, but that’s looking like an awfully big if.

Anyway, I’m not sure why we assume a higher pick will help or a lower pick won’t. Plenty of high picks bust and plenty of great players are picked throughout the draft. Not that it matters, I don’t think we can win if we try, so I guess enjoy the tank-a-thon. Maybe we can get a high pick and trade it for more picks, at least then we have a few lottery tickets instead of one.

Scherff was a solid pick. Arrington was an overrated bust.

I forgot to list Lavar. He’s not quite Chase Young bad, but he was definitely a disappointment.

Scherff ended up being a good guard, but he was cut and is out of the league already. You might also remember Desmond Howard won a Super Bowl MVP award as a special teamer for GB and RG3 did won rookie of the year, so I guess they weren’t total busts, but were they so good that you would want to lose on purpose to acquire them?

Chris Samuels was a good pick at 3. ST was at 5. Westbrook sucked at 4,

Oh I missed a few, my goodness we’ve been bad for a long time. All these high picks should have made us good by now.

Seriously though, the draft is hit or miss. Sure you have better odds with a higher pick, but let’s not pretend these will get you surefire difference makers.

We need 8 starters, not 1.

And with no 2nd or 4th round pick, our only hope is to draft incredibly high, and trade that away for multiple picks.

There is literally zero benefit to winning another single game this season.

I can see trying to acquire more picks by trading back, assuming there’s a willing partner, though I wonder if teams will still do that after seeing the stupidity of trading up for Ricky Williams, RG3, Bryce Young, etc.

They’ve been “tanking” (IE: sucking) for years. What good has it done? If losing is a pathway to winning, they should damn sure be on top of the world by now.

Ah, everybody, gather ‘round the screen,
Commanders playin’ like a broken machine.
Fumbles in the red zone, picks in the air,
We’re not even tryin’—and we don’t care!

Ahhh... nooo...
Lose it, lose it...
Ahhh... nooo...
Embrace the losing!

Tank, Tank, Tank... Tank your season!
Tank, Tank, Tank... Tank your season!
For the future...

I want to see the young guys get reps to see what we have. I will still pull hard and be unhappy with every loss.

My soon to be 14 year old son had a birthday party today for a classmate at top golf. He put on his new Commanders Salute to Service hoodie before we got in the vehicle to take him to the party. Knowing how brutal middle schoolers can be, I said: “son I am proud of you putting that on but you are gonna get razzed by your friends.” (Mostly who are Chiefs and other currently successful franchise “fans.”)

He said: “We are Commanders fans in this family. We aren’t bandwagoners.”

There is no way I won’t be watching with that kid and yelling at the tv and wanting to win every game the rest of the season - draft position be damned.

To me Jeremy Reaves epitomizes every thing I want in a players mental makeup. Effort, passion, will to do whatever it takes to win. He is a one-man wrecking crew…but he is only one man.

So are you comparing Adam Peters to Vinny, Scott McCloughan and Bruce?

I don't think that's fair. Got to give him more than a year and a half. Don't get me wrong though, this upcoming off-season will be huge for AP.

BTW, they've never done a rebuild here. A true rebuild where you clean out most of the vets, acquire as many picks as you can and start drafting as much young talent as you can to build a solid core.
It's always been a mish-mash of a few draft picks and alot of free agents. I'd have a lot more respect/patience if they did a true rebuild.

But as for this fan base, not many have the stomach for that. But IMO, if you want to become a perennial contender, that is the way.

This team doesn’t have to tank.

Without Daniels it is top of the draft poor in terms of roster talent.

The Dolphins were along with the Giants the only hopeful games and we can’t even win these evidently.

Memo to Adam Peters - please spend the money and get Daniels a tight end to throw the ball to on offense.

It’s one of the best ways to be productive on offense and allow Daniels to get the ball out quickly and keep him upright.

PLEASE DO NOT RESIGN DARON PAYNE AND PAY THIS MERCENARY ANY MORE DOLLARS.

I’m saying we suck and have sucked and sucking for the sake of “winning” sucks and is fool’s gold.

Since when have many of the perennial winners (GB, Balt, Seattle,, etc) felt the need to suck to win? Conversely how many times have perennial losers (Raiders, Jets, Cowboys, Skins, etc.) lost and continue to suck balls?

We never did. Tanking is being at the bottom of the league multiple years straight. We were mainly in that 500 range under Jay and Ron
