How the hell is Haslett still here?

Until they make a stop where the game is on the line ... you know.

Trying to be positive, really. Just can't shake the feeling I'm watching a rerun...

Why can't we have some blitzes when they're getting no pressure on Foles? Haz just has no creativity or ability to adjust.

Personally, I feel its worse than that. There is a clear shift to a "give them what they need and hope they make a mistake on third down" defense when the game's on the line.

It was but I was screaming for some blitzes in the first quarter. If you linemen aren't getting pressure, you have to adapt and try some different things. It can be a risk if he picks up the blitzes and makes you pay, but your always more likely to get a QB mistake with some type of pressure than just to let him sit back there and make throws.

Let's not forget the loss of Hall was pretty huge

True, but they were moving the ball pretty easily with him in. Didn't look good, but the Eagles are just really, really good on offense. Just was hoping we'd see the emergence of elite D today, but didn't.

Front four, eh ?
So, you think Hatcher is so good, that he counts as 2 players ?

Really dude? How'd that 3 man front work for you today? I can't recall one time we rushed three guys. I'm talking about the line of scrimmage and who we bring up. How Hatcher improves the stunt.

What you saw today, is as good as we are gonna get on D. And its not good enough. We failed the litmus test.

Haslett's secondary schemes are maddening too, they'd make quality corners look terrible let alone what we have on our roster. I swear he's terrified to bump a receiver with D Hall. 15 yard cushion on a 3rd and 5...BRILLIANT!

Having slept on it, I think my real problem with the D is the continued raft of blown assignments, leading to uncovered receivers. Over and over again. Usually on the biggest plays.

The pass rush as usual didn't materialize in the biggest situations ... no individual players stepping up and beating their man, no schematic adjustments to spring the occasional blitzer. But even on too many of those occasions, when the QB had time to pick and choose, it really wouldn't have mattered if we'd brought more heat. With the number receivers running uncovered through our secondary on key downs, he wouldn't have had to eat the sack or try to force a throw into tight coverage--with guys running free, without defenders within 5 yards, any NFL QB can get the rid of the ball for completions.

Not surprised on any level. This is Jim Hazlett defense. Always has been, and given the overwhelming evidence, apparently always will be.

I wouldn't forget that we lost our top cover corner. Not arguing the secondary was doing a good job up to that point but Hall' value was obvious the second he was not out there. I was surprised at how far DBs were playing off the WRa in general throughout.

That, and Meriweather is no better in coverage than Rambo.

Need to cut is ass, and let Clark start schooling up one of the young guys.

Baker's chicken shit play that got him ejected, along with Hatcher going out late with the hammy didn't help much down the stretch either.

I wasn't, that was vintage Haslett coverage scheme and I've been yelling at my TV about it for 5 years now.

I think our LB's and DL was so focused on McCoy and Sproles that the pass game suffered. I would have thought we would have gotten more pressure and hits on Foles than we did, especially against a 3rd string RT.

One early TD Riley peaked into the backfield looking for McCoy so his man ran right by him.

The best friend to pass coverage is a good pass rush. Just didn't happen yesterday.

I'm ok with Foles and Maclin beating us. Allowing McCoy and Sproles to beat us is unacceptable, because you KNOW they are the biggest threat on that side of the ball. Meriweather found himself out of position on 2 TDs, and another on a KR. The Eagles score points. They do it against everyone. An expectation to dominate that offense is one that I think is not attainable, and I'm ok with the gameplan.

I agree Silent we did seem to stop the expected threats. It just 'feels' the same that Haslet can't dial up what's needed. Maybe he did with the late stops. It's just mind numbing that we couldn't get at least a little pressure with OLine decimated.

I saw Meriweather blamed for blown assignments, but Perry Riley got caught twice out of position for TD's.

There was one play that had me furious during the game...the only time I think I wanted to truly break something. Nick Foles had just gotten crushed! He was on the ground writhing in pain. The clock was running and he tried to shake it off and get to his feet. They should have been forced to attend to him, possibly costing a timeout or possibly having him rush the next play.

However, Brian Orakpo hurt his finger and instead of running off the field to force Philly's hand...he lay on the ground so our trainers had to come out...for a FINGER!!! Foles was given time to regain his senses and burned us on the next play to extend the series on a critical 3rd and long if I recall correctly.

That is the point I knew Orakpo is done as a Redskins' DE/LB...whatever you want to call him. For someone in their contract year, he sure is playing like a pansy this year.

Monday on the radio, Doc Walker kept repeating "11.5... 11.5... "

He hasn't been impressed.
