34 on the bike...don't do the running thing anymore...

Oh gotcha. That's still a pretty good jaunt even for a bike.

Short 30 min. mountain bike ride b/c my dog decided to be a little butthead and cause a bunch of problems, which was lovely. She's getting locked inside the house next time.

Gym afterwards. Did a fully-body, interval resistance routine.

15 Squat wall balls (15 lb. ball)
20 Bent-over rows (45 lbs)
80 Mtn. Climbers
20 Kettle bell squat/upright row (20 lbs.)
20 Bicep Curls (12 lb dumbbells)
20 Burpee-pushups
20 Tricep overhead raise (20 lb. dumbbell)
20 back extensions
2 min. jump rope

Did circuit 2x. Heading out to wash my car. Hope to hit my fuel goal by the end of the wash :D

34 miles in the cold rain this morning, continuing to feel stronger, especially in the legs on hills. Down 10 lbs in 2 weeks. Kenpo P90X to finish the day later. Met my goal on my Nike Fuelband by 1pm :)
Impressive. What have you set your fuel goal at?

I started pretty modest - 3000 - which I am consistently hitting. Today, I'm at 5720 already and trying to decide if I have the energy for P90X tonight. No idea what a reasonable daily goal is though :)

I'm not quite sure about the "normal" daily goal either. I read somewhere that 3,000 is for someone who's relatively sedentary (desk job) and works out occasionally. 4,000 is for someone who's relatively active during the day and works out regularly. 5,000 is for someone who is extremely active, etc.

I have mine set for 5,000 and hit it by 7-8 pm during the weekdays and 4,000 on weekends. I suck at reaching my goal on the weekends though, except for today

Sounds like I need to man up and raise the bar a bit :)

Saturday was three bouts of full contact sparing with long swords. And yes, you read that correctly. :)

Today, something more mundane like the full body 10-minute trainer. Working my way back up to P90X.

Comst hither so that I might brain thee!!

Yeah, pretty much. :D

The guy in the brown pants with the blue pad on his helmet is one of my haunt partners and one of my very best friends in the world. He also happens to be an amazing sword fighter who I get to spar with nearly every weekend. Every once in a while I even score a point on him.

At first I thought you meant Kendo, but then watched the vid. Cool stuff either way! I love weapons! LOL

You should give some Chinese Martial Arts a try if you like sword fighting. We use at least 3 different types of swords as we progress through the ranks.

All this talk if running speed inspired me to try some intervals today.

Half mile in 6:00 (5 mph)
Half mile in 3:45 (8 mph)

Repeat three times. The fast halfs were pretty rough but got easier each time. I guess thats good. :)

Legs are a little sore now.

Kenpo routine on P90X tonight. Feeling better bit by bit.

Worked all day then had to coach a Ponytail double-header (in which I think every girl got hit by a 5 mph pitch and started bawling, while all the adults consoled and did our best not to burst out laughing ), so I decided to take a rest day.

Tomorrow I'm doing 40 min. cardio in the AM, coaching/demonstrating tumbling in 2 of my gymnastics classes, then CrossFit. I have a feeling I'll be glad I took today off by the end of tomorrow

My shoulder has been sorer than usual so today I just did kicking drills followed by Ab Ripper X.

That seriously kicked my butt. If I don't have a six-pack by tomorrow I'll be very disappointed. :)

Damn that sprint you have going on is quick. I forgot all about intervals in runs lately and just trug along. Sounds like i need to revisit those.

I cannot get through that damn ab ripper workout to save my life - I absolutely hate it!

It may sound stupid but when i consistently do squat thrusts my core get a helluva lot stronger. Seem to help me out on pt test situps.

It's absolutely merciless. I hadn't done it in awhile so I forgot just how brutal it is. I definitely had to pace myself.

Such a nice feeling last night when I realized I was able to handle the difficult "stance forms" (holding crazy deep stances for minutes at a time) without getting "sewing machine leg" like most of the class!

Progress!

on a side note, I watched a classmate get his hand ripped open by a sword. The Gents were probably getting a bit competitive in front of us. Testosterone can be a meanie sometimes!
