Great Movies That Others Might Enjoy, Or Ones To Avoid

Watched the new Naked Gun over the weekend. It was ok. Not as funny as I was hoping, and a lot of the jokes were cheesy. I liked the originals more. If you liked the originals, it's worth a view. Liam in this role is just an odd fit honestly.

I'm sure there were posts on the new Superman movie a bit ago. I watched it. It's my third favorite superman movie behind Superman, the Movie and Superman II.

Interesting the first 2 Superman movies made are my favorites. And I do think that has something to do with the face I grew up with them, I was born a few years before the Superman The Movie came out, and it was ever present in my childhood. It also has to do with the fact there have been A LOT of bad superman movies.

I thought the movie was generally fun. I've heard the criticism that there isn't enough superman in the movie, and there's more Lex and the dog. Eh, I liked the dog and Lex is an interesting character.

I thought there were some really good emotional scenes, good action, and generally a fun flick. And I liked the dog Krypto.

I'm really looking forward to Supergirl next year starting Millie Alcock, who was in House of the Dragon. I think that one could be quite a hoot.

Is the new movie Citizen Kane? No. But it's a good, fun movie and I enjoyed it.

Bring her back - A24, The Mrs and I really dig the A24 movies, some are of course a bit of a miss, but this was a nice gritty, disturbing story, suspense/horror, thought the casting was done well.

The Fallout series on Prime had a pretty good first season. It was much better than I expected it to be anyway. The second season is supposed to be out in December. There is a preview trailer on Prime now.

About 5 years ago i showed up to basketball and stuck my chest out and quoted that line.
Everybody was like o.m.g thats awesome, nobody knew what it was from.
Now it seems like Everybody does.

Watched The Running Man 2025 last night. Far truer to the original plot but there's just something about how crazy the Schwarzenegger movie was that I missed.

Not a bad watch, not a must see, if you enjoyed the book, its worth a watch, some decent action scenes.

It similar to many movies today seems like it was 15 minutes too long though.

I watched it the other night and agree. It was a very good movie.

Going to see the 40th Anniversary of RAD on Sunday in theatres, cult movie, not a classic but damn I wore out that VHS tape back in the day. First time I'll be seeing it on the big screen and with 4k restoration. Mrs. SO, not so stoked, down the line there will be something I'm forced to watch because of this decision.

We have recently watched a few of the recent Oscar nominated movies. I liked 'Marty Supreme' - Timothee Chalamet is awesome as a talented aspiring table tennis pro whose life goes awry. 'Bugonia' is a good watch with the always great and underrated Emma Stone as a power CEO who may or may not be an alien. 'One Battle After Another' was certainly watchable, but it's about 45 minutes too long imho, and Leonardo Di Caprio does his best Lebowski imitation. I'll let you figure out what it's about - a lot of social justice pandering in it which I find to be a turn off. Finally, I thought 'Sinners' which (spoiler alert) is actually a vampire movie, was great although it is one of those movies (like 'Get Out') where all of the white people are evil as hell and worthy of horrible deaths, lol. Still working on see the other nominated movies - but pretty good class.
