Good Morning!

Retired ... at your age? You hit the lottery or somthin'? ;)

Explains the sunny disposition though. Ya lucky bastige.

I turned 62 in August. Since in recent years I've deliberately diminished my need for "toy collecting" and have adopted a semi-minimalist lifestyle, I'm in a position to go ahead and "officially" retire with minimal lifestyle disruption. I'm not living "large" by any means but I'm comfortable with what I have and because I'm not burdened with a whole lot of "stuff" to worry about-life's pretty easy to take.

Besides, I like the idea of spending a large part of my day online digging around a world full of neat things to learn and jabbering with a crowd of neat-and sometimes...uh.....shall we say "interestingly" entertaining people, especially a notable group of wild and woolly Redskins fans. :drummer:

Have a great day with the girls today Jason! Today is a good day!

Oh yeah! Have a great day today everyone! Redskins win! Cowgirls loss!

I know it is afternoon, but I wanted to wish you all a great weekend! I am headed down to the Gaylord at the National Harbor in Oxon Hill, a great place I might add, to see the Cirque de Soleil. My girl got me tickets for my birthday.

She's a keeper guys! Sunday morning I am going to ask her to give me the greatest birthday present of my life, I am going to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me! And yes! I have a nice ring guys! :)

El, congrats! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

Welcome to the bonda... er, joy of Marriage!

Congrats brother  How exciting is that? The best decision I've ever made in my life was the one you're about to make. I hope you have half the luck I have. Congratulations!

Congratulations on your decision, brother. Very exciting! I'm always happy to see good things happen for good people. Be sure to post all the details when you get a chance!!

Good day here too, there certainly not as good as Brian's will be tomorrow. :) Running my first 5k in about 12 years. My girls came up and spent the night last night, put pink-ribbon tattoos on my newly-shaved (again) head. I'm ready to rock. Doing this in honor of my mom who, praise the Lord, is coming down to the finish line of her treatment.

All the best to you, friends. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord cause his face to shine upon you. May the Lord look upon you with favor, and give you His peace!!

You are totally screwed.

Elephant: Honey I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me? (or some similar sappiness.)

Elephant’s Girl: OMG, of course I’ll marry you. What a beautiful ring. I love you too. Let me call my parents and then I need to go show my ring to all my friends and we need to go get registered, pick out announcements, shop for a dress, make out the guest list. There is so much to do.

Elephant: But Honey, the game is about to start. It’s McNabb’s return to Philly.

Elephant’s Girl: Your not going to spend the first day we are engaged watching some silly old game are you?

If the Redskins win give her the ring after the game. If they lose, wait until Tuesday.

:rotflmao: Yeah, you don't know me very well do you? LOL!!! I am the same guy who walked into Qwest Field in Seattle a half an hour after I broke my arm to watch a Redskins' playoff game. You think I am gonna be anywhere other than in front of the TV watching this game you are mistaken. :cool4: But thanks for confirming what all my friends are saying, "Once that ring goes on her finger it is all over!" :anxious:

She said yes! And Alaskan was correct! I am at my future mother-in-law's and I am stuck here and can't leave! I don't have my car. :help:

You must firmly establish the ground rules of your future marriage.

So start by begging, whining, sniveling, and a bit of blubbering. Threatening to hold your breath until you turn blue probably won’t work but you can try it.

Your only real hope is having the equivalent of a wing man when frequenting single bars. You need to hope that your future bother, father-in-law or some other male in your finance’s family is a sports fan who will prop you up and insist that the game comes first.

You thought that broken arm hurt. You are about to experience real pain.

:laugh2:

There are 3 things that work in my favor. First she loves the Redskins too, not to mention she works Sundays from 2-10!

Second, her brother is as obsessed as we are! He actually has a leather Redskins couch!

Third, she is about as low maintenance as you can get. She's a good one or I would never have asked. :paranoid:

I predict great success for this marriage based upon shared family values.

What a beautiful day! Air is cool and crisp. No rain. We won on Sunday. Life is good.

Good morning everyone! Mondays are so much brighter when the Redskins win a tough fought battle against a team who was favored. To top it all off, the Cowgirls lose another! Woohoo!

It's been a long four months, waiting to type these words, but my Mom is cancer free.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. And thank you, friends, for your love and support during her fight. It's not quite over, she still has to have several weeks of radiation - once she recovers from her lumpectomy surgery - but her doctors have confirmed that ALL of the cancer has been removed.

I've spent my evening getting choked up and wiping away tears of joy. God is great, and so are my friends. Bless you all!!!!!

HH, that is the best news I have heard all month! I am so happy for you and your family, congratulations!
