Free Agency:

Just going by what espn and Schefter are reporting. It's the same teams you would expect who are reportedly going after him. Maybe not coincidentally are the win/loss records of these teams year after year.

The same teams who went after Fat Al.....the usual suspects. Tampa, Chicago and us.

Just like the Patriots went after head case Randy Moss? Just like the Giants went after head case Plaxico Burress? The Steelers are really the only team who doesn't sign head case free agents, and its because they're a small market team.

Got some cap numbers for you...

With the league chopping $18 mil off, we went down to just under $13 mil. The cuts yesterday takes us to about $17.2 mil. There is a carry-over of nearly $14 mil from last season and it puts us at $31 mil for the moment. $49 mil if the situation with the league can be mitigated today.

I think you are counting the $14M twice - they're at $31M before the penalty, $23M if the penalty is enforced. No? The carryover is already factored in I thought.

What did the Giants pay Plax? And Moss? What did San Fran just sign him to?

1 million for 1 year?

And we're looking at 12 million a year if reports are right?

Anyone really believe Jackson is worth 12x what Moss is?

We have no idea what they are looking to pay VJax. Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be fair value - Allen has shown that.

Glad to hear that Winston is not a target and we are going to keep our eggs in the basket with Jammal Brown

I think the fact Shanahan and Allen don't seem to view OL as a priority as a lot of us do worries me more than the battle with the NFL over the salary cap.

By restructing the Skins can create additional space. The question is what is the team going to do with it?

I am all for adding an additional WR or two to the offense, but I don't want to see us break the bank for Jackson and say a Garcon.

That would be too much money under the cap tied up in one position.

"Redskins looking to make VJax the richest receiver in the NFL tomorrow."? You got that from Twitter "Work in Essex County," page 98, right? Yeah, I read that too. Were you gonna plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or do you, is that your thing, you come into a bar, read some obscure Tweet and then pretend - you pawn it off as your own, as your own idea just to impress some girls, embarrass my friend?

;)thats a good one will !:D:D

So much for having the option to spread it out over 2 years as we chose...
6 mill this year 30 next year !

Nice fit here. Good hands, good work ethic. Upside to rebound from 2011. Not going to break the bank.

BT....I'm not directing this at you by any means, but are people high?

Rebound from 2011?

2011 19 receptions 155 yards 1 TD

2010 59 receptions 627 yards 3 TDs

2009 37 receptions 345 yards 0 TDs

This guy has a lot more to rebound from than just one year.:paranoid:

We have three or four guys on the team who can already do this.

In his defense, he did have Tebow throwing to him last year.....

What about in 2010 and 2009?

Why even bring this guy in? AA, Austin, Stallworth, Paul....someone on the current roster can already do this.

Unless it's for his return skills, and Banks is gone.

Royal excelled in the Shanahan offense - his numbers dropped dramatically in the Josh McDaniels scheme and in the John Fox scheme after it he was kind of the forgotten man. I also believe he got injured in 2009 or 2010, but I could be wrong.

Eddie Royal is in town.

I hope he is not talking to anyone in the Redskins organization yet. We are walking on a razor's edge right now and we cannot give any leverage to the NFL by talking to any free agents before the new league year starts. I know it goes on behind closed doors, but we need to be very careful right now.

Edit: And I think Eddie Royal is one of the few WR's in the draft that I would definitely give consideration. Lanky touched on why.

Do you mean "in free agency?" He was drafted 4 years ago. :)
