First you win. Then you get good.

I have also wondered about the rookies. I think it’s fair to note that beyond JD they have not made significant impacts yet, while also noting it is so so early. We should have a better idea by seasons end as to whether this was as good a draft class as some of us have characterized is as…

I have a hard time caring about big picture right now because this is a total tear down and rebuild project. The entire org was/has been/is on the chopping block. I’m not seeing anything I didn’t expect for a coaching staff working together for the first time, with a roster that’s 70% new, that was picked by a front office working together for the first time.

Was at the game. Couple notes:
Stadium staff was much better than in years past
Stadium was cleaner and better looking than it’s been in a while.
Some of the new stuff like wall coolers to walk up and grab drinks (I’m not sure that’s new this year may have been new last year) are cool
All in all we’re waiting on the account rep to send me details on a deal to reopen our season ticket account - we’ll see.

As for the game… for the life of me I can’t figure out why the coaches won’t bar Daniels from running. We all know he can run. He needs to learn how to run an nfl offense by throwing. There’s no value in him running until he’s a threat throwing - at which point running brings value. Right now he’s using it as a crutch. And every time he’s at risk for a serious injury, at a point where the team has nothing to play for. It’s dumb. Beyond dumb. (To me, at least. I get others feel differently.)

I liked his second half better. He threw way more. It didn’t feel like all bubble screens and swing passes. He needs to be out there slinging it, figuring it out. I don’t care if he throws interceptions - the sooner the passing game slows down for him and he gets better, the sooner the team can start contending.

Our defense is awful on a level that makes me feel like coaching is an isssue.

I thought Kingsberry was an offensive guru. It seems to me all he calls is QB designed runs/draws, RPO handoffs, and bubble screens. Can we get some routes that go beyond 5 yards? Can we at least get routes where the WR is beyond the line of scrimmage when he catches it?! I get that it was better in the second half but it was still a bit of an issue and the previous 6 quarters were garbage in my opinion (I’m not a big fan of criticizing playcalling in general cause we don’t know what they called and why, but this seems absurd to me…)

I see a lot of Griffin right now. Bailing early to run. Not reading the field and working progressions. Not manipulating the pocket so he can stay in there. Can’t or won’t slide. Taking hits to get an extra yard or two in a meaningless spot.

He’s supposed to be a fantastic deep ball thrower. So let’s call some of those routes. More intermediate stuff. The second half was much better than the previous 6 quarters. Would like to see them go more in that direction.

And would like someone to make him watch hours of Aaron Rodgers runs. Cause he did it right. Take what’s there, slide before anyone gets within 10 yards. Never take a hit.

What exactly are we expecting? They're rookies. They're barely out of their first NFL camp. Rookies don't just walk into the league and take it by storm. Terry McLaurin and others are the EXECEPTION. A lot of players don't even start catching up to the speed of the game until they're well into their second season.

I'm just lost to why we're already critical of players who haven't even been able to complete their first month. Seriously? I know it was referenced about rookies in Houston and Cinci being contributors, but they're walking into teams that are established, playoff teams that many have believed could compete for a Super Bowl this year coming into this season.

I don't hear criticism, I just hear folks wondering why we are not seeing more of the rookies in general. Our WR room is quite bare beyond McLaurin and arguably Dyami Brown. I personally expected to see a lot more of McCaffery - yes - even early on. Ditto Sinnott. I think most if not all get that it's way to early to be critical.

At least that's what I think I am hearing

My only criticism is on kingberry 🤷‍♂️
Well and I think Quinn should have had them play more in preseason. But I always think that about our coaches. They act like these players are so good it’s not worth it - then spend the first 4 weeks getting stupid penalties that are about basic understanding of the play call, and blow timeouts cause they can’t snap the ball on time. And that infuriates me.

I talked about Daniels a lot but non of that is on him, to me… it’s on the coaches…

As for the players - I don’t really care cause half of them won’t be here in 2 years. That’s what a rebuild is. They blew out the roster and it’s going to take a while before it’s predominately staffed by people you expect to be here the following season. If I recall, even the vets they brought in are on 1-2 year deals.

Blah....blah...blah....why didn't you and the wife stop by our tailgate? The food was great and we had some very good whiskey that she would've liked.

So, we walked by you all. We were in redzone. But you had already packed up. Son got a bloody nose and delayed us heading in, so we missed everyone :(

Our tailgate group broke up. Everyone dropped their tickets at the same time. Just got off the phone with the ticket rep to see what our options are for the remainder of the season. If we pull the trigger I’ll let you know, we need a new tailgate to join :)

Been there done that when the boys were growing up. Hope to see you there.
We always win the tailgate!

I read something interesting...not that it means much...that we still outscored 18 other teams on Sunday

Yes, the best player on the team was relegated to just holding the football. And it was a beautiful thing.
... and very soon, hopefully, Tress won't be considered our best player :fingerscrossed:

Glad to see Newmark stand up for Noah Brown and Quinn for getting him on the field.

I watched the Keim podcast before the Giants came and disagreed quite a bit about the WR room.

Keim thought Noah Brown was likely to be inactive for several weeks as he was not only learning a new system but to him was a depth player here at best.

I looked at this roster and IMO Brown is the second best WR on the team until/when McCaffrey figures out playing in the NFL.

But Dyami Brown, Zaccheus, Crowder?

The former two players are marginal NFLers that would likely not make any of the other NFC East rosters.

Meanwhile Keim talked about Brown being the #4 with the Texans in camp before he was released.

Being behind Diggs, Nico Collins and Tank Dell is hardly a sign Brown couldn’t play.

Houston gave him a $3M deal for 2024 so it appeared he was in their plans before the offseason injuries.
