Perplexing day to be sure. Not sure why we cut THT and kept Banks. The Slaton deal bugs me if true, not because I like AA, because I'd rather have THT over Slaton.

The Jackson deal is inexcusable. Absolutely absurd. The ONLY good that could possibly come out of it is if Sleepy and Dopey start taking their recreational bull**** seriously and stop it. If this wakes them up enough so they stop that ****, then fine. Aside from that, this is one of those Shanahan moves we will be scratching our heads over for a while.
 
Anybody else concerned at how some of our o-line projects brought in under Shanahan are seemingly fizzling out? With the release of Cook, Compton, and W. Smith, we now have three players unable to stick at a position of desperate need. You often hear stories of guys coming in as UDFAs and low round picks making an impact and sticking with teams throughout the league, often times at positions along the o-line. It's disappointing that we've yet to strike gold with one of these projects along the o-line. Hurt and Polumbus might be exceptions, but even in their cases, it's far too early to tell. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I do believe that coaching along the offensive front needs to be called as much into question as our philosophy for building it.
 
I'll eat my hat if Compton and Smith aren't on the PS on Monday. Cook has had 2 years and I think the writing was on the wall for him last year when he lost his starting spot (gained due to Kory's injury) after just one game.

Tanard Jackson has been suspended for the season due to the NFL's drug policy.

Dolphins and Redskins are talking about a trade for Anthony Armstrong and Steve Slaton. Update: Looks like this deal will not go through.

Looks like Kevin Barnes will be on the Lions opening day roster. If so, the Redskins get a 2013 6th round pick.

John Beck has made the Houston Texans 53 man roster.
Eagles released O.J. Atogwe.
 
So, adding Gettis and LeRibeus to the OL as mid picks doesn't qualify as building depth?

You're the only one I've heard say it. I think the clear issue a lot of us have is, yeah, 'he can'. But the fact is, when it counts, he generally doesn''t. Not excited. We have other needs a lot more pressing than a very inconsistent returner. Just my opinion.
 
The 9pm deadline has arrived. All players waived yesterday and today can have a claim put on them at 12pm EDT Saturday.
