Final 53 Man Roster for 2012

Sounds like Hightower's knee did not respond to the Colts game positively, and he might be in trouble. Cut, or headed to IR?
 
headed to IR. they really like hightower. they will probably put him on the 6 week IR and see how it goes.

no idea how i feel about banks being kept.

he's had quite a few TD returns called back for holding.

If he puts 3 TD's on the board and averages 15+ yards per punt return he'll be worth the roster spot.

WR's # 5, 6, and 7 (if you have 7) don't catch **** for balls anyways so.
 
Aldrick Robinson has confirmed he made the team via text to multiple reporters. Hooray!

But with Banks & Robinson both making it, doesn't look good for Briscoe. Makes no sense to me, but whatever.
 
Brisco, Hankerson, ARmstrong

one, maybe two spots....

i'm not an armstrong fan, but i want hankerson on the team and brisco :(
 
Alfred Morris has confirmed he's made the roster via text (to the surprise of no one). Redskins will go with 3 RBs, Royster, Helu & Morris.

what?

i'd rather have a pick. that means brisco is gone, we can't carry 4 RB's, 3 TE's, and 6 WR's... something has to give.
 
Yeah I remember Slaton being a pretty hot ticket about three or so years ago, but seems like he could never stay healthy.
 
Armstrong is 29/30 years old and had not been productive since 2010.

The situation at WR is another example of how the talent here has improved since Shanahan took over.

A couple of years ago Armstrong was our deep threat and perhaps #2 wide receiver.

Now, he couldn't hold on as the #5 or #6.

Had a feeling that Shanahan was not going to keep veterans strictly because of good attitude and work habits. That's why the releases of Cooley and Tim Hightower doesn't really surprise me.

Shanahan is making these decisions strictly on talent and anticipated productivity without much room for sentimentality.

And if a veteran is set to make decent money but falls to a backup on the depth chart, he is in trouble.
 
I can agree with that, BT. But Slaton does not excite me. At all. Essentially we swapped THT for Slaton, and I would rather have had THT, personally. Admittedly, I haven't watched Slaton a lot, but THT was an exceptional pass blocker for a RB, something all three of the youngin's could learn from.

Yeah, but if his knee is acting up, not much he can teach if he can't play...
 
Agreed. You can't keep a back because he is a good pass protector and character vet if he limps through practice the day after a scrimmage.

Tim may be healthy for 2013 and my guess is his NFL career is not over 27 by any means.

But he tried to come back too fast given that his position is the most physically demanding.

Look at the hard time that Kory Lichtensteiger has had coming back from the ACL at an even younger age.

I wonder if he used that criteria when he brought Cleveland's entire D-line to Denver?

Look, I hope he makes all the right moves. He's the coach of my team. But he has made some absolutely HORRIBLE personnel decisions in the past.
 
Granted all of that. Not sure why we wouldn't have put him on the new 6 game IR list or something. Besides, I'm not sure why we traded one injured back in THT for another guy who can't stay healthy?
 
maybe because they felt Hightower was not going to be healthy for some time, and it was an opportunity to audition Slaton for low dollars.
 
Yes, I think he had to be on the roster for Week 1 and then be put on IR or be released, resigned and then put on IR.

Please correct me if I am mistaken.
