Draft Day Tailgate

I'm trying to get what we're bringing food wise nailed down. I'm sure I'll bring a bunch of cups/plates/napkins.

I want to do burgers but I actually make real burgers and I'm not sure I want to make 50 burgers :)

Don't try to make them for the whole tailgate. Just bring half that and it would be way more than enough. I love some homade burgers!

sweet i think i'm definitely doing burgers.

i typically throw onion and jalapenos in the actual burgers before cooking them. i might make a few different batches, some with blue cheese in them.

i'm going to see if the wife wants to make one of her pasta salads. i love a good pasta salad...

got it!

Won't be going home that weekend (hangin in DC) so I don't know what I can come up with...but I'll think of something.

Just bring what you can....no one expects folks to bring enough food150 people, or to sweat over a grill for hours on end. You won't be the only person bringing burgers and you'll definitely want time to chill and socialize. The beauty of our tailgates is that lots of people bring different things, so there's a great variety of food to try.

what's traffic like gettin in & out to this thing?

Traffic is no problem....it's nothing at all like gameday traffic, not even close.

What Bob said!

TLC will be there
Not sure if he's BGO, but Skinsfan44(Dave) will be there.

TLC(John) will be tending bar with a couple of other people.

You can't miss me, I'll be flipping shrimp on a camp stove or hovering around the pig with Bob, (HOF44), waiting to pounce on the cracklin's. Bob & I are frequently seen with clear plastic cups of bourbon in our hands.

Let me know what your final decision is on what you are bringing and how much so I can add it to the list.

I would think the best time would depend on when the pig is going to be roasted.

According to the email I got from the redskins the parking lot doesn't even open until 11 am.

I'm planning on being there around 11, 11:30. Eating lunch and hanging out for a bit. I imagine I'll be leaving around 3 or 4ish, depends on how it goes.

Depends, there are some that get there at dawn and leave at sundown, I usually get there about 10am and leave 5 ish. Once you get there you'll be surprised how fast time goes.

I got the DD Driver plan worked out this year. Going to pick up Larry(my whisky cohort) then we are going to the stadium. Then wives are going shopping. The they later will arrive at the stadium and we can spend the whole day, drink what we want, and have rides. Plus the women get to shop and only be at the tailgate as long as they want. It's a WIN WIN!

That's the "official" opening time for the lots. The lots will be open all day.
The traffic, while not bad, is lighter if you arrive before 11:00am and you're guaranteed a spot at the tailgate, which is better than humping you gear across the lots.

Enter the stadium via Garrett A Morgan Blvd, and drive straight in and make one of the last left hand turns that you can into the Platinum lots. You can't miss us. We'll be set up under, and near, the solar panel covered spots and there will be Extremeskin flags and banners set up.

The SAD (Shots at Dawn) crew will be there at sunrise. Mrs Skinsfan isn't a big fan of getting there that early so, this year, we'll probably arrive some time between 9:00 and 10:00.

I'll be the one in the Redskins jersey. :D

You and Larry are my heroes! You guys are also starting to cost me some money. Bourbon bottles are piling up in an expensive fashion in our household!

I recently discovered damn good,(for the price), bourbon for the Bar. Evan Williams Black. We tried it, at the advice of some folks from a bourbon board, and were very pleasantly surprised. It's perfect for the Bar.

Someone needs to be in charge of the camera. Those of us who can't make it will expect lots of photos of our BGO brothren having a good time.

You are acquiring your Bourbon Bunker, every bourbon lover should have one!

I'm bringing an Irish Whisky this time called Redbreast 12. It is WAYYYY better than the Johnnie Walker Blue we had, actually one of the better whiskys/bourbons I've tasted. Best part $59.99 or less a bottle!

I see what you did there...

Yes...I have a Bourbon Bunker!

Honestly, I didn't like the Blue. I just can't get my taste buds wrapped around Scotch. My Dad has some Balvenie(sp?) 15 year. I tried it and it wasn't too bad

And to keep it OT.....I'm going to talk Fran into making some deviled eggs for the tailgate too...

It's the time of the year where I cannot commit, but I am trying to work things out to spend some time down there and get some shots. I mean...staff photographer and all.
