DRAFT DAY (3)

Rebuilding the right side I like

Commentators hate on all our picks lol

Damn I like it...cured the disease known as the TyPo and put Rib on notice in same draft.

Knee questions set aside for the moment-this blurb from NFL.com about Mr. Spencer Long.

BOTTOM LINE Big, tough, physical, ornery blocker with starter-quality positional traits and intangible qualities. Is best in a phone booth, where he excels as a run and pass blocker, and is smart and savvy enough to contribute outside in emergency situations.

If you wanted O-line, this appears to be a dream draft.

Long:

DRAFT ANALYSIS:
"I was surprised by his energy and quickness when I watched the tape. He's a solid football player. Washington will plug him right into the lineup." -- Mike Mayock

STRENGTHS Very solidly built with a good frame. Good leg drive -- can create a push in the run game and position-sustain. Solid in pass protection -- good anchor, shadow and mirror. Good base and balance -- controls and steers defenders. Flashes some nastiness. Intense, competitive battler. Smart and instinctive. Lunchpail worker will do a lot of extras and is very ambitious and driven to succeed. Excellent weight-room strength -- can squat a small house. Good versatility -- has played inside and outside. Very tough and played much of final two seasons through knee injuries. Possessed the biggest hands of any offensive lineman at the combine.

Nasty? Can "squat a small house?" Biggest hands of any O-lineman?

We are drafting beasts. Yes please.

LOL.....EVERY draft pick looks like a future HOFer, when you only look at, or post his Strengths on his scouting report

I don't see recovery from an MCL being an issue when there are guys with arthritic knees going in Round 2.

hmmm...reminds of fitreps written in the navy when a guy was being trashed. look at the adjectives. the only excellent applied - don't cover play on the field.

Long is another team captain type. The boys at espn980 discussing Chester's potential pay cut or release and maybe Gettis moving in with Long as backup for the short term.

Gruden expects knee to be ok for minicamp.
