Receivers I have expected. 1) Miami is really bad. 2) Diggs changed that entire room.

Tight ends… ehhhhh… we’ll see. I think the room is deep in some regards but shallow in others. Not sure there’s a ton of weapons or blockers but there’s a lot of tweeters who are okay at both. Bates is a great blocker and meh receiver. Chig is a good receiver and a meh blocker.

10 4. I didn't have the WR expectation, but am hopeful Diggs changes the equation meaningfully. Full disclosure, I thought Debo would do that last year and learned a thing or two about what we need to maximize JD's super powers. I do think Diggs brings something different, as you apparently do, will see how that translates. Notwithstanding, today didn't give us anything to be discouraged by.

Agree on the TE room. Ertz was key for JD, not sure great depth means much without a premium talent in the room. Perhaps Ertz wasn't premium, but he certainly was a fit for JD, will have to see how Chig's skill set replaces what was lost. Again....the rest of the room...????

Still think the defensive front's showing was emboldening. Will be great for DQ if he fields a defense that is a difference maker. Every sign we get that points in that direction is a good one for the current construct of the coaching staff.

I think it’s very possible the TE room is deep with guys who deserve to be on NFL rosters. I’m skeptical it’s deep with guys you want to rely on to make plays during the regular season. Kind of like how WR was before Diggs, it feels we are very deep with 3rd-4th string talent that should cling to an NFL roster and get the chance to develop, but if Chig goes down you’re worried unless Sinnott really blossoms or Yankoff really surprises. Bates is what he is and that’s valuable as long as he continues to block at that level. I know Cager is flashing, but I’m going to have to see it a lot more to care. Firkser still around? Another vet who is an NFL player but limited. Deep but bottom-heavy TE room imo.

I don't say that the offense is going to be the greatest show on turf, but I do think we're going to surprise a lot of people this year. I also think the defense is going to gel even more as the season moves forward. I think we will do better than many expect.

I dont know if i agree with the WR thing... Guys were open and Jayden was hitting targets (Not sayin Jayden didnt perform)..

Saw highlights from up and down the depth chart, with the pinnacle being a 70+ yard TD to Burks who apparently wowed with his speed.

Burks must have been open via scheme and blown coverage. He's not wowing anyone with his speed as he might be the slowest WR on the roster.

I did see some posts from Miami reporters saying coverage wasn't even that bad, the ball was just pladed on the exact wrong spot for the DB to contest. They were beyond impressed with how Jayden looked. I saw a clip of a Terry toe tap TD on a fade down the sideline. Nice catch by Terry in stride. But the CB was on his back hip. With poor ball placement that would have been deflected. But Jayden dropped it in there perfectly.

The WR depth chart and who makes the team varies so much from beat reporters. That whole mess still sounds so unsettled.

With Tunsil at LT and Coleman at LG, yes. A chance for a big surprise.

But the run game might struggle. Chris Paul at LG last year was basically elite at pass protection while also maybe being the worst run blocking Guard in the league.

Run game is still a huge question mark.

I don't know how they are going to run the ball with this interior OL. If you can't run the ball it's difficult to have an effective offense even with Jayden Daniels.

I think what’s good with the room is the diversity and the upside. They have a bunch of guys who can do specific things well. Sinnott probably is the guy who does everything, but nothing exceptionally well.

I think Chig, assuming health, is absolutely going to prove that he was a steal this off-season. He has the size, speed and hands to be just a matchup nightmare in the passing game, and I wouldn't be remotely surprised if he ended up with the most receptions on the team. Chicago's leading receiver last year was a TE, and it's a similar offense. I think Terry is going to have more yards, however I wouldn't be shocked at all if Chig has more receptions.

Bates might be the best blocking TE in the league. He was paid like it a couple years ago. He needs to be healthy, but he's a big weapon in the run game when healthy.

Sinnott and Yankoff, who knows. Probably NFL players and will contribute.

I'm higher on the room than you are, obviously. I like the makeup with a pure receiving thread, a pure blocking guy, a do a bunch of things guy, and then a good backup who can play ST.

I don't think Cager has a chance at the roster.

I'd like to see them run the ball when they get a starting center. JGG is not a player who should be playing. Allegretti is. So when he plugs in, they should be ok in the middle. Cosmi is VERY good.

Also, Bates is going to help the running game a ton. If they choose not to run directly between the tackles, that's fine. They want to feature more outside zone stuff anywhere, and that's where the tackles and TEs really can make a difference. Coleman is really athletic, which will help, and Conerly is potentially even more athletic.

My general expectation always was they were going to run more outside than inside. They kept on saying they loved the mobility Coleman had at guard, and they could use his athleticism. That's code for "they want their OL running sideways as much as downhill."
