Do we resign Cooley ?

at least banks can actually suit up. merriweather gets hurt in warmups!

It's not his fault Aldrick Robinson wasn't watching where he was going. haha

And with all our issues at Safety, I'd rather not cut one.

I love the Cooley Signing. Paul needs time, i wont judge him until later this year and he will get next training camp and preseason to prove he can make the transition. Paulson is great, amazing hands, great blocker, very intelligent and knows how to get open, and hes big. But, he is young, slow, and for sure not a starter. I think Cooley gives us an immediate target, while not a number 1 anymore, he will fill in nicely. Remember, it was his injuries that got him cut.

I never wished any harm, to any of our TE's. But I knew it was the only way Cooley could make it back.

Niles Paul, so far, has been a 10 on special teams. A zero, at TE.
Logan Paulsen, I like a lot.
Davis, was doing fine. But I don't think that he was doing anything that Cooley couldn't. Now, maybe we'll see.

His knowing the system is huge. But, he can't be in great football shape, yet.

Santana has had a nice resurgence in the past 3 weeks; maybe now its Cooley's turn!

I don't know, Cooley worked his ass off to get into football shape this year, and it's about 9 weeks since he was cut. I don't see him as being the type to just sit around and let himself go to pot.

I'm more worried about Davis going to pot while rehabbing:uhoh:

That's true Pete. And I'm not sure I'm ready to pull the plug, although his apparent laziness yesterday was infuriating. But if Bruce can find a suitable replacement on the cheap, I think Sleepy's gone.

Don't get me wrong, I think Cooley has kept himself in great shape. It's just not football shape. Seems easing him in slowly would be the ticket.

Agreed, if there's a solid prospect to fit our system, I'd have no problem letting him go. Covering our ass is what is important, and for the moment, Cooley does just that. It gives us time to look at all the options for next season, including Cooley staying on next season if he really lights it up in the remainder of this season.

For over a week i've been chopping up film of Davis this year and how he just doesn't block down field. It's costing us yards. It's costing us first downs. It's costing us games.

I haven't put it all together yet because I suck at video editing. Literally, I'm terrible at it; much worse than I previously thought was possible. But i have 14 clips from the Vikings game alone where he cost us first downs, and even a break away run here and there.

Dude is an absolute bum. If I had my way he'd be cut today and Logan would be next up (while Cooley's being evaluated)

Give me a guy that cares. Give me a guy that blocks down field when it's not his turn to get the ball.

Davis has no heart. Let some other team deal with him.

What you're saying makes perfect sense.

I think Cooley will hit the practice field with both barrels loaded. Though you'll likely never hear it, there's a bit of a chip on his shoulder, and he's out to prove people wrong.

Three catches for 62 yards, and a touch down come Sunday :betterwink:

I agree. A lot of people were completely in love with Davis but I never thought he had the heart to contribute to the team when it wasn't to his individual glory. He's a S-L-A-C-K-E-R! A bum! And always will be. He's definitely headed to pot while out.....

I'm buying! Can you imagine his reception at FedEx after catching the winning score against Pittsburgh next week?

I was teasing Ax. With Cooley back, does Ax have a new mancrush? Or is Kai still the answer?

Stay tuned, on As the BGO turns...
