Davey Johnson Manager of the year

Well deserved.

Buck Showalter was a good candidate as well, in my opinion.

Buck not winning in the AL is an absolute travesty of epic proportion. (And that's not worded NEARLY strongly enough.)

Davey is most deserving in the NL as well. He has the Nats a year ahead of schedule, at least. I think everyone expected the Nats to be a real threat this coming year, but I don't know of anyone who expected the best record in baseball this past year.

Baseball life is pretty good in our region right now.

The homer side of me agrees with you, however the rational side of me thinks Bob Melvin was an equally great choice for the award. It was literally a coin-flip, however the way the A's stormed back at the end of the season to take the AL West from Texas was pretty damn amazing.

he had a really bad september/late august, when it mattered most, if i remember correctly
