Took a while, but it is a pretty good debate. Thanks for responding. I was quite interested to see what Smith's contingent would bring up - and it turns out to be quite formidable info.
I wonder if those stats, though, aren't somehow skewed by the downright awfulness of our squad as a whole. Let's see if his numbers keep him up this year. I'm definitely going to be counting the times his squad costs us points & momentum. I'll balance that against the stats to make my decision.
And as far as holding a coach accountable - he is. No matter if it's bone-head plays or just outright getting beat - it's the coarches' responsibility. As soon as it isn't, it's no longer a team. I think Nails Mentzer would bear that out....
