To pick up here your comment about Keim just guessing about Terry, not different than any fan, etc.
Keim is by a mile the most plugged in dude about the team, and he's proven that to death from regime to regime. Heck he's done some private zooms over the years for fans and he's explained how to interpret his podcasts as to what he knows and what he doesn't know.
Keim even hinting things on podcasts have meaning typically. As an example, I noticed when talking about the pass rushers they can sign this off season, he put special emphasis on Von Miller. While some fans here were clamoring for Z. Smith, I got the vibe from Keim that its Von to watch out for, and yeah naturally it happened. And yes I posted about it in real time when I noticed Keim has Von on his radar some.
Heck in Ron's last year, Keim commented on what position they were targeting in each round in the draft. It actually went down to a tee like that and it was the kicker on why I bailed on Ron -- Ron was that locked into picking to need versus PBA, wild, and it turned me off, let alone not loving the picks.
Going way back, Cooley used to joke that Keim is never wrong because he gets 7 sources to back every point.
lol, as
Voice_of_Reason among others know over the years, I am a media geek. I follow these guys really closely, listen to almost every podcast, etc. There is only one dude who covers the team, I trust, Keim, who is right abut 95% of the time. Sheehan oddly is right more often too when he has a nugget but he rarely does. Standig had a spell under Gruden's era where he had some inside info but it didn't hold.
Keim is as good as it gets as to knowing what's going on with the team. When he guesses, he tells you he's guessing. But when he tells you multiple times the team is willing to go to 28 million, I'd say that's a lock that he heard it from a good source with the team. When he says the Terry side is more stubborn right now, I'd say that's a lock, too.
Now as Keim himself will say, what's true now doesn't mean its true tomorrow. So things can shift. But when Keim repeats something like that twice. He's not guessing like a fan. I've followed him enough to be absolutely sure of that he's heard from a really good source.
Keim has been questioned in a fun way from other reporters about why-how he's so good at getting information about this team and being so accurate. And his reponse has been its more important for him to be right than he is to be the first to say something.
Some on ES thought he finally lost his touch when Peters-Quinn took over when he was saying things they didn't agree with or didn't want to happen including him saying he knows this FO prefers Daniels over Maye before the draft among other things. He was right about everything.
