Just curious BB, how do we/you know that?

And do you think there is ANY chance at all he ends up back with us for one year at a reduced salary, especially if this continues?
 
I can only go on what is being reported, tweeted, blogged, etc. I don't have any first hand knowledge and I will never pretend to be an insider.

As for coming back here, it seems rather obvious that it is not happening - based on the aforementioned sources.
 
There's the answer at RT - coaching staff must think his injury is behind him.
 
Whoah, trading a conditional late-roudn pick and Vonnie Holliday to the Cards for Tim Hightower. Interesting...
 
Wow! Loved Hightower coming out of UR, interesting pickup. Very much a north-south runner, not much dancing involved there, he is a decent receiving option out of the backfield as well. I saw him in person a couple of times, and liked rooting for the local kid, may not be real objective here, but I like the pickup.

Seems pretty low risk anyway, not like we could've been counting on Holliday for big things.

The Hightower thing is confusing, but Vonnie was probably on his way to being waived.

Good news about Brown. We should sign Ryan Harris anyway - it's always good to have insurance.
 
Why confusing? Draughn and Davis are unlikely to make the team, Royster and Helu are probables, meaning the coaching staff is uneasy with Torain's injury history. When he is healthy, he has looked good, but he has not been able to stay healthy during his time in the league at all.

EDIT: Besides which, Torain never looked THAT special to me. Solid runner, but not an everydown back. We could platoon with Hightower and Torain and keep Royster or Helu, and PS the squad the other, I suppose.
 
Redskins now have just six players on the roster that are 30 or older.

Edited to add: Make it seven with Brown being re-signed. Buchanon would make it eight. Releasing Sellers would make it seven again.
 
With the Holliday trade, Redskins now have only 8 players 30 or older on the roster. 3 will turn 30 this season (Beck, Darion Scott and Anthony Bryant) - the next oldest is Chris Cooley, who just turned 29 in July. The Youth Movement continues!

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix reports that the Cardinals are "working on a deal" with free agent Braylon Edwards.

Jurecki cautions that "it could fall through," but expect the Cards to be considered among this year's biggest free agency winners if they close this deal. The addition of Edwards would give Arizona perhaps the most dangerous one-two punch of receivers in the NFC, along with Larry Fitzgerald. It makes sense for the Cards to jump into the Edwards bidding with his market moving slowly.

Hightower is respected for pass-protecting skills. Only 13 #NFL RB's stayed in backfield to block more than his 119 times in 2010.
 
Nice. CP goes, we need someone to stay in and block. Combined with the aforementioned decent receiving skills, he could (at the least) be a valuable 3rd down back.
