Confirmed Signings

The signing of Bowen is still sending shockwaves in Dallas. Sounds like Rob "Whale On The Beach" Ryan had big plans for him. We get him at age 27 for five years and 27.5 mil. Contrast that with the Eagles signing Babin (age 31) for five years and 28 mil.

And the message to older players looking at the Redskins for one final payday and the Club Med treatment - it ain't happenin' like we used to do it. Message to Cullen Jenkins - take what is offered or find something else.

All the media wants to harp on are the McNabb and Haynesworth exits.

The rest of the Redskins moves aren't really being analyzed very closely by the Post and others.

About the earlier pics from today. I found them by accident when surfing for news. Lost the link though. Maybe there are more pics there - found these a couple of hours ago.

BREAKING: Having never heard of A.J. Feeley, #Cardinals to give #Eagles QB Kevin Kolb 5 yr/63 mil extension

if you arent following NOTSportsCenter on Twitter yet you really need to be. theyre pretty darn funny.

Another great parody account is FauxJohnMadden. Some of his gems from the past couple days:

Steve Smith says he wants to be a Panther for life, prompting team officials to immediately test him for a concussion.

Reggie Bush will be taking his talents (running 20 yards horizontally, injuring himself, landing Kardashian sisters) to South Beach

Patriots trade for Albert Haynesworth. Knowing the Pats, I'm sure they had some great video footage of him. (I had a better one, but still funny!)

Seahawks sign Sidney Rice. Rice's familiarity of chasing down defenders that intercept Tarvaris Jackson's passes will come in handy.

Bruce Gradkowski agrees to deal with Bengals, but for the deal to be official he must be arrested by Cincinnati PD

Drayton Florence signs a 3 year, $15M deal to play in Buffalo. He should help them go from last place in 2010 to last place in 2011.

A day after Carson Palmer retires, the Browns release Jake Delhomme. What a brutal week for the Raven and Steeler secondaries

Barry Cofield will sign with Skins & when he does he'll have immediately contributed as much to the team as Albert Haynesworth.

Media Analysis & Bowen

Well, to be fair - those are the highest profile moves. But I really hate the way "hometown" WaPo & specifically, "The Mayo[r]" Reid took another opportunistic parting shot @ the Coarching and FO... You can check the comments section on that article alone to see what the reader-base actually thinks of WaPo's & Reid's crappy coverage. But you're right, even ESPN's coverage on the Bowen trade is from the 'dark side' angle.

One thing that is sticking in my craw a bit, is Bowen's claim that he actually wanted to be a Cowgirl and it all came down to money. @Bowen: Son, you better get your priorities straight unless you want straight vitirol on you all day down heah. Don't get it twisted.

Bowen said it was only the money? Strange given that dallas decided not to extend his deal last season you would think he might mention feeling disrespected a bit by Jones, who clearly thought Bowen wouldn't receive this type of deal.

If it is a done deal, can you say "tampering"? He has not been released - yet.

Ha - Free Agency isn't supposed to start until tomorrow and several dozen deals are already done! Tampering is abundant, and was expected.

I beg to pardon with ya. We are negotiating with FREE AGENTS and the league is allowing contact, but no signing until Friday.

Vince Young is still under contract with the Titans.

Finally, some OL: Redskins sign Chris Chester according to LaCanFora

And there is Casey's replacement.

Edited to add: More to come on offense - like various twitters were saying.

Correction - He will be penciled in at RG. Very good player. Montgomery is still the choice at center.

Its after 4pm EST, so teams can officially waive players. Titans officially waive Vince Young. Who will the Redskins cut?

They released a bunch of players earlier today.

How about that hot market for Carlos? Wow! :rotflmao:

It really irritates me that the Redskins could only muster 2 6th round picks for McNabb, but the Eagles were able to rangle a probowl CB & a 2nd round pick for Kolb. I HATE PHILLY.

It is a matter of age, brother. That and Kolb did well last year every time he hit the field. McNabb, not so much.

Not so. He had a couple of good games and a couple of stinkers. Not sure Kolb is going to light it up like everyone seems to think...

Difference is Kolb is younger and under contract, so everyone wanted him. Everyone knew we were going to get rid of McNabb, so why give up much when if waited may get him for free.

We had damaged goods, so no market value.
