Confirmed Signings

No clue how the Cowboys are in this at the moment. They have announced cuts totaling some $16 million worth of players and are still reportedly over this years cap even before they sign a single member of their rookie class or resign the only legit starting LT on the roster from last year, Doug Free.

I think someone is using Jerry's name to bump the price just like they use Danny's name for it.

The Cowboys are in it because of the abilty to re-structure a substantial number of huge contracts (sound familiar?). I sincerely hope that Jerrah continue to be the GM and cap "expert" for his team. :)

And the 49ers are the latest team to enter the Aso sweepstakes according to PFT. That is strange, but glad that we are not in it.

Maybe but I am still having a tough time seeing it. The 'Boys are unsettled at 3 out of 5 offensive line spots, both safeties, at least one defensive line spot, and maybe a linebacker in addition to the CB spot that Asmou would potentially fill. They have a lot of money the will have to spend even without signing the most expensive FA on the market.

Of course, the talk heads here think the moves they are seeing now are all "win now" moves and would only be made if Jerry thought he was close or there. None of them think the Cowboys are close enough to be in "win now" mode though.

At least it is interesting.

I've said all along Holmes was not coming to DC. Jets gave him a Danny Snyder contract; he was simply using us to bump up his price. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jason LaCanfora's "Insider Information" came from Holmes' agent.

A deal for Redskins QB Donovan McNabb between Washington and the Vikings is in place, but what is reportedly holding it up is McNabb's displeasure with the Vikings' handling of the deal, according to ESPN. McNabb is unhappy that the Vikings initially pursued Tyler Thigpen and that they've insisted he "dramatically reduce his contract terms."

McNabb being the victim, yet again. How thin-skinned is this dude?

Don't be surprised if the Redskins land Vince Young anyway. The Clemens signing is a result of not obtaining Matt Leinert.

Not to worry either - Rex is coming back regardless of these moves. Keep in mind that we get the extra player this year for game day. The Redskins could keep four QBs on the roster and one on the practice squad.

So we could see Grossman, Beck, Young, Clemens and the Indiana QB on the PS.

I'd rather see Grossman on the PS.........:)

The McNabb drama will blow over soon.

We tried to get a 5th and 7th for DMc5, but got two sixths. Not bad, but better than we could've hoped for at this point.

Phillip Buchanon decision coming soon.

A funny from NFLInsider...

When life hand you Clemens, make some Clemenade.

Like Mike, I am getting my info from twitter. Eleven windows open at the moment - crazy! :)

Had a quick conversation with Greg Cosell this morning at the gym. He really likes how the 'Skins are being deliberate in FA early on. He didn't hang around to talk - was probably in a hurry to get over to Mt. Laurel (NFL Films is based there).

Orton to Miami could be done in the next "6 hours," according to Evan Silva.

Good to see so many of us tracking the latest moves. I'll continue to go that direction and post what could be happening. I'll leave it to ya'll to announce any signing that we have along the way.

With that in mind...

Look for rookie signings to pick up later on today. Also, talks between the Redskins and Braylon seem to be heating up.

Man, Eric Weddle just got PAID by San Diego. Unreal contract! LaRon is licking his chops!

$40M over 5 yrs, $13M sign bonus, $19M guaranteed. Wow!

DeAngelo stays in Carolina with a 5 year deal worth $43M, 21M guaranteed.

Makes our O.J. signing look like a great deal. Sure is nice to have a great FO for a change.

San Diego is going to pay a safety that kind of money but lets DL and offensive players like Vincent Jackson depart or stiffs them on a new contract?

San Diego is on a downward trajectory. From that season they were 14-2 under Marty and had all this younger talent under 30, the Chargers have stood in place and failed to take advantage of a weak division to get homefield in the playoffs and go to the Super Bowl.

And for Norv to win he really has to have superior talent. He is not a guy that is going to get a team to overachieve.
