Confirmed Signings

The Eagles clearly believe this is the year they finally fill that trophy case. If it weren't for Vick, I'd almost think they have a shot.

Bingo. After the game against us that I never want to think about again, opposing D's caught up to Vick a little. He was very ordinary in the playoff game, and teams seemed to figure him out a little. He will never be the incredibly accurate, pick you apart prototypical pocket passer, which means he will struggle against more disciplined teams.

Hopefully with a year under our collective belts in Haslett's system, we can stay disciplined and actually compete with them.

I still can't believe the Eagles have all this money under the cap. This must be a 'go for bust' season for them. They seem to have it 'worse' than Snyder did in 2000.

Wait a second! Speaking of Dan Snyder... There was a report that he has been out of the DC area for several days. The Eagles are spending like never before...

Nah, can't be. :)

But it sure seems like the roles are reversed now. Really weird in a way.

So, Snyder kidnapped Lurie and has him making calls at gunpoint to bring in these free agents to ruin their cap long-term?

I wonder if this is the eye of the storm. There was this fast 48 hour period after the labor deal to get players to camp. Now there seems to be a lull as veterans are being released and there are a LOT of guys on the street who can help a team but may be pricing themselves out of the market given their age or injury status from 2010.

In any case, the Redskins could still use help at OT and that includes a backup swing tackle as well as a starting RT. The team also needs some depth at ILB. Even if Perry Riley has improved I think we need a vet for depth.

In addition, we need another cornerback.

Some competition for the punter and kickers jobs would be nice too.

Rocca and Gano need to be pushed. Last year the team didn't bring anyone in to push Gano and he had one of the poorest FG conversion percentages in the NFL.

Nate Clements signs with the Bengals.

Carlos still waits. GMs are unable to contact Los - they don't have the phone number of Jason Campbell's basement.

Actually, they have his number, but his cellphone keeps dropping the signal.

Noel Devine was released by the Eagles. Eh, there goes the Dream Team and the Super Bowl.

From a comment at PFT about the release...
"The Vikes signed Vernon Gholston, Darth Vader signed Fat Albert and the Eagles signed a QB with a Wonderlic of 6. There’s always a chance." :rotflmao:

Jared Gaither deal fell through in Oakland. You know, if he is reasonably healthy or if the Redskins are willing to wait a year (put him on IR), this could be a low risk/high reward signing. Not sure if he is ZBS material, but he is worth a shot. At worst, he could be a strong backup tackle.

Bwahahahahaha.

Poor Carlos. Not getting any respect.

Yeah, I'm a stinker (said in best Bugs Bunny fashion)

I suspect Carlos is finally getting a bit of humble pie. I really think he did not understand that he was not being disrespected by the Redskins and believed that he was a top cornerback in the league. More, he felt that he was so good that he could skip a bunch of games due to a minor injury for fear that "poor play" might diminish his diamond reputation.

He killed himself the last two years. From being a very solid corner with poor hands, he became a half arser who put himself above the team and contributed to a crappy defense. In fact, the D play considerably better without him.

How he got his ego filled to the degree it is is a mystery. If we believe what he's been telling us for years, his lack of free agent superstardom is one of the greatest mysteries of all time.

Dam, now he's gonna have problems paying child support, and keepin the baby mama's in cheese wiz.

I saw a sign in the window of the Walmart in N Ft Myers. They need a cart boy......

Wow, that was quick. Wonder what the deal was. Maybe it was a cap issue with all the big names Philly has signed already.

Don't be suprised if we sign him. He said the Eagles contacted him first and we were second. I know there is reports about character issues, but he didn't do anything that made headlines in his time at WVU. That doesn't mean a lot though, as long as you don't committ murder WVU will sweep it under the rug.

Anyway, i think he would have a shot at the 3rd rb spot behind Torain and Helu.

Philly has 5 RB right now, so six was pushing it I guess.

I'll admit he did behave at WVU, and I enjoyed watching him play in high school, but lost my taste for him once I learned more about him.

He might have a shot at the third spot, but I hope we don't pull the trigger on this one.

Yea, i heard about some of that stuff too.

I would pull the trigger just because of the fact we may need another RB. I'm doubtful on Torain's durability, especially the way he runs, and he's better than the guy from LSU that we have now imo. Plus, he could return kicks.

I don't know, if there is a chance he's still doing questionable stuff off the field, i say no also. We seem to have a good bunch of guys and we don't need someone like that around who may rub off on others.

I'm not actually worried about off field problems with him. I just don't like punks who get away with ****, and don't want them on my team.

He's a bit light.. about 180 lbs, others his size have made it, but generally not as the primary back. If the injury bug hit us bad, I don't know how long he would last getting most of the snaps.

Sorry man, but I rather not say.

EDIT: Ya, I forgot about the battery arrest too.

Been bouncing around a bit, and there's a thread over at ES that has some of the most outstanding photos I've seen from camp today.

There by a member, Clarence3, and he's got the gear and talent.

If it's not cool to link the thread, I'll edit it out.

I'd kill for the lens he shoots with... 600/4L

That lens cost more then my camera body and three lenses.

EDIT: and my trip to Italy last year :)
