Commanders News (Social Media)

I don't know how much knowledge this person has about the situation but thought it was intriguing and would post it.

Don't know much about him but wondering if DQ looking to have someone on staff that can step up if KK leaves next year? DQ recent interview talked about what he learned before getting this gig and how he values staff succession planning. He may already have folks in mind but this just makes me wonder.

Nice addition. It'll help tremendously with Luke McC's development (and any rookies we bring in). The effect and rapport with Deebo is an added bonus.

I can’t remember which podcast I was listening to, but one of the SF best guys was on and said Weljer actually got out and ran miles with Deebo before practice to make sure he was in shape, and that Deebo wasn’t quite the same from a motivational perspective after Welker left.

Maybe we just got our Deebo whisperer.

There's a nice little article about Welker in today's Washington Post. It's crazy how many connections he has to Washington's staff.

Well that sounds great that Welker appears to be able to motivate Deebo. Hopefully this doesn't mean he isn't motivated or can't motivate himself. I hope he can be a wihisperer for McCaffrey!

Assuming he knows Luke or has had some kind of connection through Christian being in San Fran also.

This front office is amazing. To sign a $17 million dollar a year employee, and then sign another one for $1 million a year(made up salary), that doesn’t count against the cap, to maximize the performance of the larger investment? It’s just smart.

Welker is going to be a huge pick up for us. His time working with Kliff and Deebo is going to be invaluable.

T Hill had his best years working with WW. I wonder if he's still looking for a trade. :ROFLMAO:

OMG nothing like throwing fuel on the rumor fire :ROFLMAO:

The Washington Commanders hired former wide receiver Wes Welker to their coaching staff. Welker has been around the league, having roles on several NFL coaching staffs. Most recently, he was the Miami Dolphins wide receivers coach, where he helped Tyreek Hill put together two of the best seasons in recent NFL memory, eclipsing 1,700 yards in 2022 and 2023.

Hill has made it pretty clear that he welcomes a trade out of Miami. Washington has been a team rumored to be in on Hill should he be available. With his former position coach now on the Commanders' staff, that feels like a potential step in luring him to join forces with Terry McLaurin, Deebo Samuel, and Jayden Daniels.

Well that would mean I'd have a free last weekend in April just like the Commanders would...or maybe they keep a 7th rounder for the fun of it.

I'd so much rather draft a RB and WR in the 2nd round

So would I for sure. Maybe they throw some day 3 picks in on those trades for us.

We get all of our blue chippers and can draft day three to replace the one year deal guys next year.

I'm sure you know I'm not serious.

Oh course I do, but there are some that will jump on this crazy bandwagon you just jump-started :ROFLMAO:

Also, I'm wondering if a thread on surviving injuries might be worthwhile. I find the fact that we had such a low injury rate last year interesting.
