That's all I've heard/read so far.

Figured that the Raiders would out bid us for Penn...with the way they've screwed up their line in free agency.

Bruce,Morris and Doug's connection to him must have swayed him if they're finalizing a deal(I hope that's true).

Dude's made his last 108 starts..at LT even. He has to be better than Polumbus.

Heck, an abandoned buggy in the Sam's Club parking lot is better...who we kiddin'?

you know....I don't think Penn is anything special or worth getting excited about - one reason I asked who was chasing him. and then you had to bring up Polumbus. you're right.....let's get the buggy and Penn!
 
Penn is huge and very athletic for a big man. He has also never missed a game. The knock on him is he is very inconsistent. He has been great at times and very bad at others. He played LT for the Bucs. He will be an upgrade over Polumbus for sure, but who knows by how much. Hopefully he can produce consistently at RT.
 
Hmm...just wondering if maybe they are thinking of moving Penn to LG? That would make for some serious size, strength, and athletic ability on that left side. Then maybe they go after an RT in the draft or even maybe promote Compton.

Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I expect Meriwether and Amerson to be much better this year. I thought they both were improving at the end of last season.
 
If Thomas and Rambo and perhaps a 2014 draft pick improve behind Meriweather and another vet in that would not be the worst thing.

Besides my feeling is the chance to grab vets is going to continue after the draft and then during camp.

We will be adding some guys in May and July that are not even in the radar screen yet.

Absolutely. Meriwether signed for 1 year @ $1mil. Smart signing considering he doesn't need to learn the playbook.... he's gotta work on his hits, but for that price we can draft someone and develop them. If Meriwether blows up we can bring him back, if he falls apart, minimal loss.
