He is not making it up. I can see that by his language and how he is approaching it.
He will not play football again. It's that simple.

For those who thought he should seek a second opinion...
He did, but only when it became apparent that it was more than a skin related issue.
You don't seek a second opinion when it appears to be nothing more than a skin rash or a small bump. You simply don't seek a second opinion.
Monday morning quarterbacking is so easy here - for both sides. But you don't seek a second opinion for something that seems so insignificant at the start.
Right now Trent should be a Cleveland Brown.
This issue should be moot.
Instead, we are going to have 8 more weeks of Williams trying not to play and leaking information to the media to gain fan sympathy.
So, the irony is that Bruce created this mess by trying to control everything, but in the end Williams has the pulpit with the media, his story is the one being told and HE is the one saying he isn't going to play.
Sound like the organization has control to you?

What I don't understand is why Williams is still a Redskin. I don't understand why neither the team nor he has figured out a way to part ways when it seems like it's in everyone's interest to do so. Frankly - it's bizarre.
There is a plausible case to be made that the Wizards are in fact closer to regaining respectability and viability in their sport than the Redskins, who now appear to be in the cellar of DC sports.
I'm not even sure this is debatable.
Last year the Wizards dumped everyone who wasn't a bonafide star and this year they are VERY young. They are doing exactly what a rebuilding team needs to do. Hachimura looks like he might be the steal of the draft. Kid's averaging 18 points and 7 rebounds out of the gate. This team has been dying for a solid big man for years. I think they found him. I am much more bullish on the Wizards than the Redskins.
btw if we get a top 3 pick next year, we should trade down unless there is a generational talent available, we have so many holes we need to start stockpiling talent instead of swinging for the fences we need quantity right now, \i would rather have a ton of middle round picks unless there is a generational guy available.
You haven't joined any rooms.
