Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, The Mock Drafts, 2015 (Continual Updates)

Boone is in the house.

And excited :)

I think it's silly to let the team with the #1 overall pick, to be "on the clock".
Unlike the rest of the teams in the league, they've been "on the clock" for the entire offseason, and shouldn't need any more time.
Goodell should have their pick from them when he first steps on the stage

Scherff is about a #9 pick.
I don't care how we get him, whether we take him at #5, or trade down to #8, but we HAVE to get this guy
Not to mention, if we don't take him, he will likely get taken by a division rival

The "Fear the Spear Draft Strategy" is "**** value" (obviously not going to extremes, like taking a projected 7th rounder in the 1st, and such).

If you have to spend just a little on pick value, to get you a player that will greatly benefit your team, then you DO IT.

To become wise, you must re-read wisdom from the wise.
As for humility and modesty, I have no lessons on that.
Only lessons on wisdom.

Good call Fear....unless you edited it to look brilliant.

Good call Fear....unless you edited it to look brilliant.

Nah, it's clear I didn't do that.
All you have to do is look at the bottom of the post, and it tells you the date and time that it was last edited - which was 4 days ago.

But it's nice to be right about predicting something "positive" coming to pass.
Seems like, up until now, I've mostly been right about predicting bad things that were going to happen, so of course no-one wants to hear about stuff like that (before or after the fact)

Well you coulda offered a mod a handy to delete the "edit" time stamp. J/K it was a helluva call & I believe ya, lol.

I've been one of those bitching for YEARS to upgrade that unit. This pick was a fantastic one IMO and the thought of a blue chipper under Callahan's tutelage is very intriguing. I'm sooooo excited to see our run game now....80 yard death marches will be the norm!

Well..maybe more like rotational than outright gone. Still have some hope for the big man.

Owner's Guide to Brandon Scherff :

So You've Drafted Brandon Scherff: A New Owner's*Guide - Black Heart Gold Pants

He was incredibly tough -- maybe too tough for his own good. He left a game against Ball State with a knee injury, had surgery the next day... and was back playing the following Saturday. How do you even wrap your head around something like that?
....One of the more ridiculous Brandon Scherff pre-draft facts: He ran the 3-cone shuttle in 7.07 seconds. Melvin Gordon's time was 7.04.

Pete Prisco 'The Redskins really needed a WOW pick...'

WTF does that even mean? Talk about losing credibility with a single short sentence. The Redskins needed AS MUCH AS ANYTHING an OL who could open holes for a RB, block, and pass protect. And we just got the best guy in this year's draft at those needs. Bitch.

Pissco hasn't had credibility in forever with me.

Ive been saying Oline oline oline, but I honestly don't know how you pass on Williams at 5 I thought he should be the number 1, If scherff dominates, then I will feel better about this, I think it shows that mcgoo thinks RG3 will be better with a decent Oline in front of him because williams would have given us an elite Dline.

It's not hard. You say 'With the 5th pick of the 2015 NFL draft, the Washington Redskins select Brandon Scherff, University of Iowa' :)

Don't ever bitch about OL play again if you aren't committed to investing in early draft picks. I wanted Wiliiams too - but I totally respect this pick. And it took balls to forego conventional wisdom to make it.

Williams is a younger version of Brian on the DL

Scherff can play any position on the O-line.
Scherff also played QB in high school, he was an excellent punt returner in Iowa, and his 3-cone Shuttle Time was 3/100's of a second less than the top-rated RB in the draft.
Which means he can play any offensive position except WR, plus Special Teams.
So we basically drafted a player that can play 10 positions.
How's THAT for "draft value" ???

And the last person I excepted to gripe about this pick would be Ryman !

Mark my words. Brandon Scherff will be the greatest Redskin from Iowa - since Sage Rosenfels !!
