Re: Burner's Burning Questions: Free Agency, Mocks, Camps, OTAs, Roster Predictions,

Thanks for all you do BB. Boone says to take $100 out of petty cash.

BTW, seen where JLC is stirring the pot on Trent Williams this morning, saying the relationship is totally fractured and he'll never play for the Redskins again.
Notice it didn't take long for Chris Russell and JP Finlay to jump on that wagon(disappointed in JP for that).

It's getting to where John Keim is the only guy that actually practices journalism.

I'll take a Red Ryder BB Gun. Or a shipment of Omaha Steaks. Or a new 4Runner. But, if you want to send money...

At this point JLC needs to just submit his resume to CNN, or The View.

Maybe it's like this at every camp, but this year there's more working as a team than ones I can remember. Cohesion seems much stronger than years past, plus our talent is better. IDK, probably just wishful thinking on my part.

So, part of me wonders if Pothead Williams is waiting until he thinks it's safe to get tested.

I thought the exact same thing yesterday. That type of drug testing happens at the start of training camp. I wondered if he knew he would fail a test and is just going to wait it out so he doesn't get suspended. Pure speculation, I know.

Also, I'm really scared that I am having the same thoughts as Ax.

If he was toking heavy over the summer then yeah he'll need to flush. If it was a 1 time thing then it'd be gone within a week though. Plus, aren't players subjected to yearly testing at any time or location?

Edit: Very interesting angle you guys have, could possibly be it. BTW, my research on the subject was for a friend. :paranoid:

Re: Drug testing.

Holding out does not affect the NFL's time schedule for drug testing. Being that TW71 was caught in the past, the NFL likely keeps close tabs on him. A player can be tested anywhere, anytime. The league's testers have been known to show up at a player's home. On vacation. In an airport. At a restaurant. Early in the morning. In the middle of the night. At noon. TW71 has been tested several times this offseason - as has every player in the league.

If a player has failed a drug test during the offseason, it will become known. Just ask Golden Tate, Taylor Lewan, Holton Hill, Ryan Smith, Antonio Garcia, David Irving, Jhurrell Pressley, Azeem Victor, Patrick Peterson, Dion Jordan, Ben Watson, Alex Redmond, Rico Gathers, Aaron Neary, Chris Herndon, Rashard Robinson, David Onyemata, and Roc Thomas.

TW71 can't hide from the testing and if he fails during the offseason, we'll know about it. Also, if a player "hides" or refuses to take the test, it is the same as testing positive and that player will be suspended.

You are right that he is probably tested more than other last because of his past failure and then his suspension a couple of years ago for skipping a test. I'd be shocked if he was out of the program after being suspended as recently as 2016.

There are two types of drug tests administered by the NFL. One is for PEDs, which those happen any time throughout the year. The second is the street drugs test which happens just once a year from April through August. Chris Long talked about this a few weeks ago and spoke how easy it is to beat the street drugs test. It actually makes me wonder how dumb you have to be to fail that test.

I read an article from a few years ago that said a lot of players are tested at training camp since it's easier for the testers to collect when all players are in the same place. But apparently that's not a rule, so it is possible you can be tested during the timeframe April-August even if you are “holding out”. And Trent should know better than anyone what a slipped test means.

I guess we are all just scratching our heads still trying to figure out what is really going on. It's an interesting theory but probably not the reason.

Extremely early I know but seems most if not all of our draft picks are at least kinda impressive. Waiting on Big Love news for the complete cycle

Awesome, glad to hear Scherff say that at the end. That may be the most I've heard the guy talk as well.

Here's another tube clip that has day 4 redskin tidbits.
