I only saw a thread about Breakfast, in general. As for specific Breakfast Cereals over the course of your life, which ones stand out, for any reason ?

Remember Cookie Crisp ?
What was the point of that ? I mean, even if you're gonna go the sugary route, you might as well buy a box of cookies and pour them in a bowl and add milk.

As for nutritious cereals, one of my favorites no longer exists as far as I know.
TEAM had the taste of 4 major grains - Rice, Corn, Wheat, Oats.

I know there's more legendary cereals that unfortunately have come and gone.

When I was a kid, there was 'Quisp' and 'Quake'... and the whole gimmick was you had to pick one of them as your favorite (it was the 'Sonny' or 'Sam' version of breakfast cereal wars.

I don't remember if either of them were good. I was always a Sugar Smacks guy. Life cereal was a favorite. And Raisin Bran was always good.

My favorite cereal as a very young kid was 'Rice Honeys'

It would have a toy inside, extra fun bonus.

I was forced to eat oatmeal (grossest shit on earth).

Favorite? Golden Grahams or Froot Loops.

I take it, you weren't a huge fan of grits either :)

Oatmeal with walnuts & maple syrup is amazing

Speaking of hot cereals, I used to love Cream of Wheat or Cream of Rice.
I'd love it when it was cooked wrong, and created giant hard balls of Cream of Rice/Wheat.
I would dig for those, like they were nuggets of gold

I love grits, total Southern girl. (Funny, when I made my husband a grits/eggs/sausage bowl the first time...well, let's just say he loved me back :chef: 😁)!

Believe it or not, I LOVED Grape Nuts.
One of my favorites, despite the coarse texture.
It was that malted flavor that came through, I guess from the barley.

Come on, you guys drink malt beverages, right ?
And malted Whoppers candy ?

Just like Milk-Bone dog biscuits makes dogs' teeth stronger, Grape Nuts cereal does the same for humans

I like this thread; love cereal! Great memories of getting downstairs on Saturday mornings, watching cartoons, eating a bowl of cereal. It was my standard breakfast!

All of the slightly blands became good with some sugar sprinkled on top: for me, Rice Chex, Rice Krispies. A bit (ok probably way too much as a kid!) of sugar on top; automatically good.

Agree with PB Crunch too!

My choc milk cereal was Cocoa Krispies.

I also loved Fruit Loops if I could get them; artificial color meant it was rare. Wegmans has a knockoff now with no artificial anything. I’m a fan.

I never understood Kix. Always thought they tasted like cardboard.

As a youngster I liked Cocoa Puffs and Sugar Smacks.

in college I loved regular Cheerios with chocolate milk

Now days my go to's are probably Kelloggs Raisin Bran, Rice Chex and still like Cheerio's with regular milk (usually)

My mom would often cut up a banana into Cheerios (or whatever other bland ass cereal we had). It helped.
