Yeah, could be. That trade with Jville has brought us an extra 2nd, a 4th, and a 5th now. Impressive.

Yeah, I like more picks, but I gotta agree with Boone and Neo on the fact that they have to hit on those picks! 4th and 5th rounders are projects. With this many 5th, 6th, and 7th round picks, they are gonna end up cutting some those players. Sure there might be a diamond in the rough and the more picks you have the better chance of finding one, but with 7 picks in the final 3 rounds you gotta think around 5 of them might be cut by opening day.

I would like to see a trade up to the 3rd round which gives us a chance to find someone who might be able to start right away or at least a quality backup.

Coach Shanahan just made another trade and we now have three picks in the upcoming NBA draft. Busy night.

3rd, 5th and 7th from Miami. That makes 4 5ths and 4 7ths?

I continue to very much approve.

Thanks BB. I'm still around. I just lurk more nowadays.

enough is enough. if all we get is a lot of really "solid" draftees out of this....and no damn starters......in my book this will go down as more Redskin stupidity. what's going on here? a contest to see how low we can drive the talent pool we draft?

obviously we won't know until a long whiles from now.....I think they are gettin snookered by other teams and not seeing the players they want so they keep moving down cuz the next on the list are niche players like running backs. what's the logic? draft to value? well that only leads down one road.

frustrating.

I don't know Al. So far we have drafted the 2 picks we originally had while picking up a 3rd and 4th round pick we didn't previously have. Not to mention 2 more 5th rounders and a 7th. Now we have an opportunity to p[ossibly package some of those picks for another 4th or 5th? All because we picked up one 2nd rounder in our trade down in the 1st.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. The Redskins are now finally doing that. We had to do this. We need bodies. A lot of them. And the more picks we have the more likely it is some of them will hit.

We will surgically place superstars onto the roster another year. This year we need the roster.

sorry...as a blanket philosophy...I disagree. quantity for the sake of quantity is not a good strategy. I sincerely hope they aren't that brain dead. the Skins need two things - an upgrade in talent...and starters. the odds of drafting starters drop hugely from round to round.

I agree, but I would still like to see them package something and get more impact players, not super stars, impact from the 3rd or 4th. I don't disagree with the trade downs in their entirety, I would just like to see another 3 or 4th instead of so many 7th rounders.

Edit: I think I see an ILB on the horizon in the 3rd.

Al, if we aren't capable of drafting starters in the 3rd and 4th round it doesn't matter what we do in the draft. We'll suck.

El...I applaud the mathematics.....but how many starters are we going to get out of this? I didn't have a problem with the first 2nd rnd tradedown...but the others? ehhhhhh.....there comes a point where I play the odds.

oh well....let it never be said the Skins lack for variety!

Henry....the odds weight very heavily against that happening. At 49 we likely could have drafted a starter. now........all bets are off. this is just sign a whole bunch of people and throw them on the field to see what happens drafting. I would have been happy with 3 starters (first, 2 seconds), the rb that's gonna be drafted in the fourth and then the annual man crush, not long for the NFL draftees selected in the all the other rounds.

draft 3 starters + 2..maybe 3.....starter quality FAs and that's a really good off-season. ok...so we have one of our FA signees.....a first round starter...a rotation player with our second round pick. other than RB...what talent are they possibly looking at? it won't be an OT. we don't need TE. the remaining CBs aren't worth thinking twice about. I don't care for any of the remaining wideouts. there has been a run on all the d-line players. center/guard? mallet? there are two things going on here - amassing picks and moving lower in the draft so that dollar paid maps to position in draft. well.......it is early. I find it more shoot self in foot drafting than anything else....but we'll just have top trust that the guys who traded picks away in the first place for McNugget and Brown know what they are doing.

these guys drive me nuts!

Let's see, we're picking #79-right in the middle of the third round.

I smell a surprise pick.

Or a QB, Mallet, McElroy or a virtual unknown-those I wouldn't count as surprises though.

We'v added five picks to our draft, including a 3rd and 4th, while still keeping a 1st and 2nd. I don't see that as a concern. If all we had were 5th rounders and lower I'd be worried. But we have some high picks too. All good.

Al, draft 3 high picks and ignore the rest of the draft is business as usual. No thanks.
