I'm SUPER wary of drafting 'the next big thing' - the guy with 'all the potential' who will need 'a couple years' to 'develop'. There are guys who look ready to play in this draft (I'd say both Pickett and Ridder look the part just at a passing glance). I would greatly prefer we go with a guy who has thrived played the traditional QB role and would be ready to start right out of the gate.

Doesn't mean Willis won't be 'the next big thing', but I'm not sure this team is really in a position to take a huge risk with a QB draft choice. Of course, they may well do that, because I rarely get it right, lol ...

I was intrigued with Willis initially but his body of work is a legitimate concern for me now. I don’t think we have the time to develop him. He has great athletic abilities but due to his decision to leave Auburn and go to Liberty he has just no real experience playing at a high level of competition like Pickett and Ridder.

He could be a phenom or he could be a relative bust. Too risky to me for this team’s situation.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't advocating drafting Willis necessarily, though I am intrigued.

I was just watching all the QBs at the combine throwing that long bomb pass, and his was right on the money. He's got the tools.

If we're drafting, I want to make sure we get a QB with the right mindset. The kids we've drafted lately have been...problematic. Let's leave it at that. LOL
I want the tools, but I also want the right character. Rivera has done a lot to turn this team around in that respect, and I don't want that derailed by a diva QB.
It's the biggest reason that, despite his obvious elite ability, I was never a fan of having Rodgers or Watson.

I want a QB that I can respect and get behind.

What I want is the arm talents and mental acuity of Rodgers, but with the character of Heineke. Is that too much to ask?

It appears those who voted for Carson Wentz won the sweepstakes and for 2 3rd's and swapping 2nd's I'm not hating the move, the 28 million we'll be paying however, ouch
