Around the NFL - Free Agency / Transaction / Injury thread

That whole situation sounds just odd, he had foot surgery, assuming the Raiders knew and now a failed physical which probably brought on the surgery. Would the NFLPA even allow such a contract clause? It's almost to me that they expect or anticipate no issues but just in case but again I struggle thinking the contract language is that simple.

Chargers have signed Justin Herbert to a 5 year, $262 mil extension. He’s entering his 4th season so he’s now under contract for the next 7 seasons

Franchise QB is everything. At almost any cost it takes. Good for the Chargers.

I always wonder how much a HUGE contract like that hamstrings a team. I mean 50m for a year costs about a quarter of all spending. There's a part of me that thinks that the reason the Vikings annually underperform with Kirk at the helm is because of all the players they couldn't sign or re-sign because of his salary cap hit.

Note: The cap is $224.8 million this year. I remember when the whole cap was 40 million. Crazy how much it's grown. Every player should take a major pay cut so ticket prices can go back down to ten or 25 bucks a game ;)

He's the third best QB in his confidence and second in his division. He's barely in front of Lamar and Russ.

I like Herbert a lot. I think we should have drafted him looking back, but that contract is ridiculous for a QB who has no playoff wins and barely over .500 record.

The days of NE Tom Brady and not taking full market value to improve the overall team, I don't ever think we'll see that again from a QB. Of course one could also argue NE wasted the extra money they saved and at the end and didn't build well around Tom but he was taking hometown discounts for years.

Developing - Joe Burrow carted off the field with apparent leg. Looks like it was non contact

Atlanta Falcons CB - Jeff Okudah - Carted off the field with leg injury

The Colts asking for a #1 is going to make any deal difficult for a RB on a one year deal wanting an extension.

i know, which makes it even nastier.

Irsay 2 weeks ago 'you're not worth that kind of money"

Irsay rejecting trades 'hell now we won't settle for that, he's worth too much'

I think it just makes Irsay a twat biscuit. Dude loves having power that his daddy built. Why anyone in the NFL listens to him is laughable. Suck for Luck, he quit on you along with his neck beard. You discarded the real franchise maker Peyton who went to 2 superbowls in Denver oh and has another trophy you cant hold. Oh did I mention I dislike him lol

I've lived in the Baltimore metro area since '81.
Trust me on this. The apple didn't fall far from the tree with Irsay. The old man was a piece of shit too....

I believe it, Elway trade than move......
I remember that shit like it was yesterday. Elway said he would play baseball, before he'd play with the Colts.
I felt sorry for the Colts fans back then....

We are all excited to experience the announcement of draft selections IN REAL TIME TOGETHER.
