Anyone watching the Wizards?

I am just kind of bummed that nobody got my ultra hip Breakfast Club quote...

I'll go back to the corner now and listen to Slayer played on a ukelele

Mike,

I got it, silly wabbit. It was perfect and needed no reply.

But I've 'liked' it now because seeing you sad made me sad.

:flowers:

HA!

whew!! I feel better inside.

Thought I’d bump this thread…it’s only been a decade!

I think the Wizards are doing the right thing in putting together a young, talented team, and in just a few minutes , they will add another piece. Ace Bailey would be awesome. Queen, Maluach, or Fears would be others I’d like to add. Who will it be?

…well, it won’t be Ace, as he just went to Utah, ahead of the Wiz. Wizards on the clock.

As a huge basketball fan, I was watching the draft and looking for a Wiz chat here. Took a deep dive to find it.

Oh well, I really think this FO is doing it right. They’ve gutted the roster, gotten rid of bad contracts and malcontents, and have put together a super young roster with tons of talent.

They probably won’t win much again next year, but if there is progression with these kids, and one or two become stars, the Wiz could break out in ‘26-‘27 like the Pistons did this year. Wish I were still in the area, I’d be going to tons of games to watch these kids grow together.

After trading Poole, Wiz now have tons of cash, and I expect them to take on some salaries from teams looking to offload, and grab more picks in doing so. Wizards are following the Thunder game plan. Hopefully they can be close to as successful as OKC!🤞

I tried to get into the draft. Tre Johnson feels like a good pick for them. They needed someone who could make a basket. Not sure if they dodged a bullet by missing out on Ace Bailey.

On Bluesky, I joked how Washington guard Tre Johnson sure looks different in 2025 then when Washington guard Tre Johnson played for the Redskins in 1992.

I would have loved Ace Bailey. I think his ceiling is superstar. Johnson was a solid pick there, though. Both picks last night, Johnson and Riley, are guys that can put the peach in the basket.

The Wizards young core: Sarr, Coulibaly, Carrington, George, the Johnsons (AJ and Tre), Riley, and even Vukcevic are all 22 or younger. They’ve mixed in hard working vets like Smart, McCollum, Brogdon, Middleton, and Olynyk to show these kids how to be pros. They should definitely be a fun watch next season!

Opening night...70+ allowed in the 1st half...that's sadly nothing new.

but only down 11...both teams had 30 in the 2nd (this was nearly lost in the 1st quarter).... I can't get a stream going but we're doubling up on them in the 3rd quarter now and closing it.
