A Question for the New(ish) Members

Another via Reddit following the demise of Extremeskins. I wasn’t a member over there but I enjoyed reading some of the posts.
 
I have been a member of ES since the early 2000s. I was more of a lurker than an actual posting. I think I had about 500 posts, mainly in the tailgate. I first saw this message board in a post on ES when they discussed the possibility of the site going down. I made the plunge to join once I saw a post on Reddit.

Can we bring back the daily babe thread like the old days ::)
 
We would love to… but we got blacklisted by Google early on for a similar thread. But we’re glad you’re here - welcome!
 
Google. ES went down, I refreshed the page about 100 times over a few days until I accepted that it wouldn’t come back. I googled for Washington forums, checked a few out and landed here.
 
E.S. lurker since early 2000’s. Never really posted…so seldom that when I went to log in, I had to make a new account - 3x.
After the shutdown, I searched for forums and this seemed the best; clean and organized, saw a bunch of familiar posters from the other place and figured this would be my new spot to get news.

Someone got pretty slick on the backend with the prompts, pretty much forcing to make an account to read the forums.
It even had a countdown saying this is the last day to view without logging in.
No more lurking I suppose 😝

It’s now my daily dose for football related content.

I just heard a shoutout on Galdi podcast this past week. Pretty cool I thought.

Yes, we installed an add on to encourage ‘lurkers’ to at least join the site. Glad you found us!

Oh. I did neglect to mention that encouraging ‘lurkers’ to join was all Brother Chris idea…

I guess i had same path as most. Googled ES and was sent to reddit and from there to here. Fantastic job by the mods that run this place, my go to for all things Skins!
 
Found this I think off Reddit. Never followed Reddit before. I found Extremeskins and CPND when spurrier got hired. I needed something to pass the time at work, so that was how I got involved.
 
ES got shut down. I think I heard about it in some reddit post, that some old ES guys had started this site many years ago and now the refugees were heading there. Good policy on having no "tailgate" section. That place was poisonous on ES.

As disappointed as I am with the state of things, I'm far more positive here...and I love football.
This place has a really good vibe without all of the negativity that comes with politics. :cool:
