2nd-Annual BGO Ballers Fantasy Football League

Is there any advantage as to when you set your roster for the next week's game? Just curious what you more experienced guys think. Do you do it early in the week or late?

Obviously you have to pay attention to Sunday scratches and such, right up to game time, but I mean other than that.

I will generally set it Tuesday or Wednesday (sometimes Monday if I'm feeling anxious) based on gut feelings and what not, then check back later to see if there have been any injury updates or anything. As far as strategy, as long as its not the ever-aggravating "game-time decision," you should have a good idea by Saturday who is and isn't playing.

Who knows, you may be right about 75%. In the big money league I run I am 2-5, with 659 points scored (dead last). The second place team is 5-2 with only 11 more points scored.

you're right that it takes some smarts to play some guys not everybody thinks of. But injuries can have the single biggest effect on a roster.

I wonder, is there any kind of league where you have your starting lineup for the week, with backups listed, in order, that would become active only after an injury that kept your starter from finishing the game?

THAT could get interesting.
 
My team seems to be mirroring the Redskins. Fast start, quick fall. I even lost to the "Comeback Kings" this week. Trying to scramble up some waiver wire steals.....not having too much luck. Still, I'm loving the challenge and hope to kick all your asses in the playoffs. Anything's possible once you're there.

This is exactly right. There is no award for winning the regular season. In fact, it's very common for the regular season champ to go down in flames.

Look at your players right now, and see who they play in weeks 14-16.

Dreading this one. I've already lost 4 straight and this week I am without McFadden or any of the guys from GB while facing one of the best teams in the league...

Well, in a way we're rooting for each other - I'd really like the Redskins D to shut down Fitzpatrick, and I'm sure you'd be thrilled if Torain tore through the Buffalo defense. :)

Weren't you frustrated earlier in the fantasy season, claiming that you continuously score a high amount of points, but lose because your opponent pulls a rabbit out of their hat and has an amazing week?

No need to worry about that this coming Sunday. You have the Canadian Hogs on your schedule. My team's weekly point totals make the Redskins offense look dominant.

But see - you haven't played me yet :) It's almost a given - the last player on schedule for you will shatter their personal best and give you the 30-40 point boost you need to overtake me.

It's going to happen.

Sorry gents, forgot to approve the trade before this week. If you were going to start either player, I will do that retroactively if possible.
