I’m seeing 2-3 wins in that stretch to the Cards.
I'm seeing 4-6 into Cards. And 9-8 total...if I'm being optimistic and saying defense improves, offense does enough to keep Jayden from breaking his back trying to carry it.
Breaking things into Chunks...
Optimistic:
3-3 (vs Eagles, Cowboys, Seahawks, Colts, Giants, 49ers)
BYE
4-6 (Eagles, Rams, Giants, Bengals)
6-6 (Cardinals, Titans)
9-8 (Texans, Falcons, Vikings, Jaguars, Cowboys)
Pessimistic, defense improves but is inconsistent and exposed vs certain teams, offense is really missing another WR
2-4 (vs Eagles, Cowboys, Seahawks, Colts, Giants, 49ers)
BYE
3-7 (Eagles, Rams, Giants, Bengals)
5-7 (Cardinals, Titans)
7-10 (Texans, Falcons, Vikings, Jaguars, Cowboys)
I think we're oscillating between Pessimistic and Optimistic outcomes for our position groups. So 8-9 with plus/minus a win depending on good/bad luck.
Yet Jayden Daniels is the X Factor. If he elevates the team...again. Then who knows what happens. Here's a Full on Hopium scenario:
- Williams is a total steal
- New run scheme unlocks Bill & Fatman
- Allegretti is an upgrade in the run scheme
- We also manage to add another WR somehow.
- The Daronte Jones/Flores-esque defense works like a charm and most offenses simply can not handle the dynamic trio of Styles, Chenal, and Luvu
- Amos is healthy, Sainristil is back to being better as an outside zone corner, and Amik in the Nickel is as feisty as he can be
BYE
6-4 (Eagles, Rams, Giants, Bengals)
8-4 (Cardinals, Titans)
12-5 (Texans, Falcons, Vikings, Jaguars, Cowboys)
I feel like the toughest group of games is not the start of the season, but the middle. The Eagles, Rams, Giants, and Bengals is a rough grouping. Especially if Harbaugh has them well coached and adapts to something that McVay/Stafford use to exploit our funky looking defense. It could take a bit for us to figure out a counter to that element.
