2026 53-Man Roster Thread

The stance that it is either necessary or required for the decision-makers to earn the fans’ trust is adorable.

Their future employment is based on results, not on the basis of fan feelings. At least I hope so.
This is absolutely true. But they also don’t need to patronize the fanbase.

If they believe in what they are doing, keep doing it.

Proof is in the pudding.

But… fans don’t have to blindly trust anyone. If they believe the FO needs to prove it for them, the individual fan, to trust the FO then… that’s their prerogative.

It just doesn’t dictate the GMs employment in any way.

Fan’s trust waivers by the week (sometimes by the day or hour) depending on results or other factors. I certainly don’t want any organizational leader that is swayed by the fan’s opinions du jour or that is driven by earning their trust.
Oh me neither. On the other hand, sometimes the mob is right. Take last year when everyone was concerned with our receiver corp.

You never want to follow the mob but it's a good idea to pay attention when there is a consensus opinion.

Let's keep the thread on topic please.

I don't recall questioning this franchise's personnel/roster decisions very often during the Joe Gibbs 1 era. Only one was at the end Desmond Howard, hated that one.

With Allegretti back we should be in a better spot offensively once all gel.

I imagine they are watching for additional CB depth help

This is adorable.

Yes, I do agree they know more than we do about what’s going on inside the building and potential moves to allow them to move forward.

We aren’t privy to everything.

That is 100% truth.

That said… patronizing the fanbase isn’t going to earn you many brownie points.

Grant and Danny were talking about this yesterday. As Danny referenced they can't act like they've earned everyone's trust after the debacle of last year.

I am still unsure about how the season can go, I can see anything happening. But just a gut feel from watching Peters where I think he's a nice guy and I don't believe he's arrogant in an obnoxious way but he still comes off to me as someone who can use a dose of humility -- i thought last season wouid do it, but it feels like he might need round 2 of it. And of course I hope he kills it and none of that is needed.

And agree they don't need fans trust. But I also do think ownerships are typically not oblivious to their customers (us) over time -- usually it manifests in sales one way or another. Whether they should be or not, is another topic.

Back on point, I take Peters comments as wait to you see what we got cooking. I hope so. Maybe Glasgow?

Guys - there is a Front Office/Peters thread. If we want to discuss him, do it there please. This is the roster thread.

Patronization is in the eye of the beholder.

Do you not see the Twitter links as embedded posts? That’s how I’ve been seeing (and posting) them for years, are some people just seeing lines and lines of links in these threads??

Maybe it's only awkward for those without a twitter account?

I've got to hit the link to view it, and then get past twitters popup.

That’s definitely not the intended experience, I don’t think viewing the links on BGO would lead to this site having any idea whether you technically have a Twitter account or not. The tweets should just be displaying as embedded fodder to view, and only require you to go elsewhere if you decide to click. Basically exactly like the Bluesky link you quoted

I wonder if this is a browser issue for you, or if other people here are experiencing this?

Whatever plans the team has for center, if they're going to do it I hope they do it soon. If Allegretti loses more time, whoever is out there instead of him will need some time with Jayden and the rest of the line.

No it should always look like this

That's odd. I use Firefox on my phone too, and haven't had trouble.

A couple ideas:
1. Try using private browser mode as a test.
2. Try another browser as a test, Chrome on Android or Safari on Apple.

If 1. or 2. works, try going to Firefox's Settings and go to "Delete browsing data". The specific items to delete would be Cookies and Site Data, Cached images and files, and Site Permissions.

My guess is something about either BGO or X has saved corrupted cached data on your phone and loads that corrupted cache whenever it tries to show the embedded link.

Sign Glasgow let them both compete for starting center

Private browsing does not show it either. Deleted those groups of browsing data you mentioned, did an exception for this website to allow cross-site cookies (hmm that exception got removed when I deleted the browsing data and can't seem to apply it as always allow anymore).

No dice when fiddling with settings.

Chrome is showing it though.

AK is better than Hartman and they signed a 39-year old off the street last year rather than start Hartman when that situation (both QB’s hurt) arose
Friend, you are mis-remembering.

It was worse than that. SO MUCH WORSE. Let's walk through it together:

So first, Josh Johnson made the 53 as a 39 year old beating out Hartman for the 3rd string job. Ok, fine, but not a great look.
Then Daniels got hurt, Mariota was the starter, Johnson the backup.
Then Daniels was shut down.
Then Mariota got hurt.
Josh Johnson was named the starter. But they didn't have a backup.
Instead of elevating Hartman from the PS to be the backup to Johnson, they signed Driskell and made him the backup the same week they signed him.

They wouldn't even give Hartman a jersey as a backup in games which it would be better they lost than won. (It's POSSIBLE he was given a jersey as the inactive 3rd string backup or something. Maybe. I can't remember that but it doesn't matter.)

If that's not the indictment of the century, I'm not sure what is. Forget start. They wouldn't even let him back up Johnson and signed a guy from off the street to be the backup.

So your memory was kinder to Hartman than history shows :)
