Im worried about where we are currently on offense, no single group seems even what I would call "average" going into this game;
WR Terry has yet to find his form. Noah is a big part of this group but once again is injured. Lane, McCaffrey etc have yet to prove anything.
TE Ertz is very good but is no threat beyond 15 to 20 yards downfield. Bates is out, Sinnott...same as the afore mentioned rookie WR, can not be counted on at this point, need to prove it.
RB Eckler out, Bill needs playing time but apparently cant get on the field much until he improves his blocking and route running. CR hasnt featured. McNichols is nothing special. This unit has to depend heavily on the OL and TE to function.
OL As of this moment it appears to be a shambles, Tunsil is the best of the bunch but has that head scratching penalty every game, Coleman has not looked great and once again has an injury thats prevented him from practicing. Biadasz seems to be doing well. Allegretti has looked awful. Conerley, giving him some slack because he is a rookie and has gone up against some monsters the first couple of games but he has struggled and he gets to host Mad Max this game. As a unit this group has played together very little.
QB Even if JD plays there is no way he is 100% and has once again had no time throwing to TM or Noah. Mariota, looked good when he played last year but again its a new year and he has had limited reps with the receivers due to various factors including him being injured all training camp.
Coaching Have not covered themselves in glory so far this year, time management at the end of halves, WR seemingly not in sync, offensive rhythm non existent.
Could many of these guys take this game as their chance to step up, can the OL come together, will Mariotta step right into the way he played last year? Very possible. But until they prove it Im very worried about this entire group going into this game. We have talked about potential all offseason, its yet to be realized.
Vegas coming off a short week and traveling across country, Commanders with extra time to prep and rest is the silver lining.
I say all this by again saying thoughts going into this game.

This is looking really far ahead but we may have ourselves an interesting decision point in a few months if we have another playoff season (please no “let’s just focus on and enjoy this season comments”)
Mike McDaniel looks like his days as Dolphins HC are over after this year. If Kliff were to leave for a HC job, would you bring him in here or promote internally?
Given how much McDaniel loves DQ and credits him with saving his career while going through alcoholism in Atlanta, we would be in pole position to get him.

McDaniels team did fair pretty well against the Bills. It will be interesting to see if they can build on that, if not he is going to be fired. If all the stars aligned like you protected, he would be a good OC candidate.

I’d make that hire. I’m famously a McDaniel apologist in terms of fighting the idea that his personality is a weird fit for a HC. And I may have been wrong on that, although I really respect his empathy and ability to connect with guys and thought it would counteract his lack of discipline in other areas. But that personality in a coordinator role is totally fine for sure. He can scheme the hell out of a running game. I’d welcome it, if Kliff gets hired away or regresses

Three weeks into the year, Terry should be up to speed now. Time for Scary Terry to return and earn his nickname as well as that contract.
Kliff needs to understand the value of the run game to take pressure off of 5 and help the D out. I feel like this has to be said every season. lol
Sometimes, I feel like Kliff throws in a run now and then as lip service so he can get back to calling passes. That's Spurrier-esque, IMO.
I'm not calling for 3 runs and a punt but a 60-40 pass to run ratio would be optimal.

Stafford is having a ball playing from under center this year because McVay is able to disguise the runs and passes exactly the same and utilize PA heavily without it just being a route timing gimmick like it can be in shotgun. Jayden is always going to do well in shotgun because of the way it lets him see the field and pick a lane and run at times, but I think it would help him to have a real running game threat and credible PA attack that isn’t just RPO-based
I am already intrigued to hear what Sundays starting OL lineup will be. Biggest question, will Coleman be in it and if so, where? I am guessing Allegretti sits.

The aol will be the same until Cosmo comes back, unless we have an injury. I’m just ready crossing my fingers that Conerly can settle in and stabilize RT. I’m sure we will see a big year 2 jump, but we need him this year.
I have to agree. This is the first real big 'step down' in pass rush opponents going into at Atlanta. Starting the season we played 2 absolute monsters of D-lines, then just went up against Maxx Crosby. Atlanta doesn't have anyone that is at the same level as Crosby, Burns, or Parsons on the Edge, and I don't believe they're on the same level on the interior of the Giants or Packers either. I'd imagine they stay the course at this point unless they see something in practice. We're far from perfect, but if the focus is development, from what I've seen in game, now is not exactly the time to make a shake up.

It feels like this offense is still missing a man beating possession receiver. Terry can take the top off. Deebo is our YAC guy. We don’t have a guy that consistently can get open against man coverage and keep a drive alive outside of Ertz, and he probably won’t be here next year.
Because there hasn't been any definitive remarks on Coleman. I get your question. I was thrilled when they announced Allegretti was being replaced. I never heard of the reason for the Coleman move other than a coach's decision.
Terry is evolving into that guy. He is mainly working short and intermediate and is becoming the chain mover.
He still has the burst to get deep but you can see how we use him changing. The hope is Lane develops into the deep threat - but that role is one that we might need to fill via the draft.

Hes dealing with a shoulder issue. Probably something where he could play if he can mange the pain but it reduces his strength, feeling likely was giving him some rest and letting it heal was the way to go. Paul played well I thought in relief as did Wylie who (to no surprise) looks better at RG than RT.

I think Kirk builds in man beaters to most(?) passing plays (as I believe most OCs do), but setting that aside...
It’s interesting, because to some extent Lane, Yankoff, JCM and even McCaffrey all have plus traits that could translate to an ability to beat man coverage, but 1) they obviously haven’t proven themselves on that front, and 2) I think they all carry question marks as to whether they could eventually excel at it.
