2025 Washington Commanders- All Things Offense

Fun game to watch. Payton talked about how the two pointer was a “Kodak situation” where they cal the TO to discuss.

Kodak - meaning they look at the alignment and understand what we are doing based on formation and history.

Many Broncos saying they knew what we were doing on that play.

When the Broncos call TO (or any D in that situation), I always wonder if the O should do something slightly different after the TO, even if it is adding a wrinkle of some sort instead of completely changing the play.

The offense should absolutely be changing things up after a timeout. And Kliffy should have tons of options in ha giant playbook of his.

If they 'knew what we were doing on that play', why did they leave a WR wide open in the corner of the end zone? The defender made a heads-up play on the ball, but that's the only reason we didn't pull this one out.

Yeh that’s the offense I envisioned this season. They were driving up and down the field on one of the leagues best defenses. And the route trees were awesome. Mariota kept testing them deep too, can’t remember the last time I’ve seen such an aggressive offense.

I might be fine going into next season with the running back room we have. They're fine right now, and people act like Croskey-Merrit won't improve. He played in one game last year and was a 7th round rookie. Give him some time. I like the combo with Rodriguez--it's also cheap. I think money is better spent on other needs.

A more complete back like Breece Hall won’t be expensive and will help take this offense to another level

I too think JCM will improve. his main problem in the scheme is not hitting the whole decisively like CRod. no need for big FA signing, but I wouldn't mind taking a mid-late round pick again...especially, if we can find another in the Austin Eckler, Chris Thompson, JD McKissic, etc. mold.

Yeah, I think we CAN improve--we can improve everywhere other than QB. But with limited resources and so many holes, I think it's down the list. But reasonable minds can disagree.

agree. priority is DE and WR (won't choose on over the other...it depends on what options are available). even letting lattimore go, I think we can be okay on corner if our scheme and pass rushing improves. so I think the next two priorities are safety and tight end.

If I had to rank them:
1. DE/Edge
2. WR (flip these, and I wouldn't argue)
3. S (Martin didn't play terribly last night, I don't think, but an upgrade is needed)
4. TE
5. CB
6. RB

Sign Hall? Draft Love? You won't hear me complain about either--just think there are better options for now.

If they knew what we were doing on that play then they defended it terribly, McNichols was wide open and the LB getting his hand on the ball was the only reason we didn’t win. They schemed up that pressure of course but if they knew where the ball was going he wouldn’t have been wide open. That was individual excellence winning them the game, not knowing what we were doing. What we called “worked”, the instant pressure was just too much. But they’d have had a safety net if they actually knew

Saw somewhere a prediction he would get 12 million a year. But agree with the point about him adding to this offense.

How about that one handed catch last night? I heard he was a first round pick from the Titans

I'm pretty sure it was RB McNichols that was wide open on the play... as he came across the formation and slipped behind the defender.

with the emergence of Conerly, our oline should be ELITE for a few years. Continue to bulk up the depth on the line. Need another vet TE, another WR, and another RB and we are on a gravy train with biscuit wheels on offense. But that defense needs to be priority number 1 in the offseason. We need a pass rush and ideally a QB on defense at MLB.
