2025 Washington Commanders- All Things Offense

Dak is currently the highest paid player in the NFL at $60 million per year. Jayden won’t get less than $65 million a year and $70 wouldn’t surprise me, even if he just stays at his 2024 level of play rather than improving. I’d sign him as quickly as possible to as long a contract as possible. Mahommes him. Even tie it to percentage of the cap. Just get it done.

I do wonder if Jayden might be willing to be team friendly, given his temperament and desire to win.

$325M? 65x5?
$350M? 70x5?

What are you guys thinking?

Anselmheifer lots of strong (underlined!!!) thoughts there!

I do wonder if this is just stubborness at the moment by coaches. They can do that. Ertz is in the right spot and Daniels trusts him, and he honestly hasn't done anything to lose his job.

I really like Kliff, but I could see him just riding with Ertz. What needs to happen is they need to give Sinnott some reps in practice to see what he can do with those.

There is a lot to keep track of, so who knows what they are doing. I am guessing, but I think you'll see Sinnott get more opportunities as the year goes on.

Very possible. Cards had a top-5 TE in McBride developing behind Ertz while Kliff was there and nobody knew until Ertz got hurt. I’m not saying at all that Sinnott will turn out to be elite, just that we’ve seen this with Kliff and young TE’s. Recently. Also with Ertz.

I'm not bailing on Zach Ertz after one bad game. He's been rock solid since he got here, but I would certainly feel better if they gave Sinnott a few chances.

Zach may also be impacted by the fact that Noah and Terry and Ekeler are out. Before this game, defenses probably thought they needed to take out Deebo and Ertz to stop this offense. After the Chargers' game, they now will be shading at least a little more attention towards Bill and the run game. That should open up more holes in the zone for Ertz and that's where Zach feasts since he no longer has much speed.

Yeah, I noticed that with just a small open space he can catch and get us some yards, even if he can't cut up and gain 10 like he used to. Still, reliable hands.

Not to understate what Bill has done, broke tackles, vision etc but the blocking has been exceptional at
times.

Oh, I'm not bailing on him after a bad game, and I don't know that he even had a bad game.

But he's old and he's slow, and they need somebody younger and faster.

I didn't hear the retirement rumors, but he might retire.

I do think they need to get Sinnott more involved in the passing game somehow. Even if it's just a few targets a game. Let's see what he can do as he develops.

People are being weird about this online, thinking it’s an excuse to not lean on him as the starter, but they aren’t taking into account this type of thing below:

They WANT this kid to be a star. He has to round out his game and valuable members of our staff are spending time helping him get there.

When these guys believe in the calls like this, good things happen. The film work and game planning being good enough to guarantee them this opportunity is one thing, the execution matching the preparation is where we’ve consistently seen the magic since Daniels got here.

It's great to hear that they like what Sinnott is doing in the blocking game, but it's still a bit disappointing that even with Ertz losing a step this year from last, Sinnott apparently hasn't yet earned having plays drawn up for him and only has 1 reception thus far this season. I'm sure he's working hard, but IMO that either says that 1) his route running and understanding of the offense is still not very good, or 2) the coaching staff isn't very flexible and is set in who does what until something major changes. Neither is very good.
We are now hearing accolades for Sinnott. It's really the first time since he was drafted. That means confidence is building and we should see him prying plays from Ertz soon. Perhaps Monday night will be his coming out party or the following week against Dallas

He might have really had some rookie year growing pains.

I'm in an entirely different industry, but we hire a bunch of college kids.

Sometimes it takes 2-3 years for them to figure out how to exist in a professional setting. And their mistakes are not shown on ESPN or a jumbotron.

Seems like he's figuring it out. If he is, and it's taken about a year and a bit, that's basically right on schedule.

Any thoughts on Robbie Chosen? Fast and tall but not an ace on contested catches. JAG???

I’ll be honest, I know almost nothing about him. He was in the street and they signed him, but he hasn’t done anything to warrant playing time so, eh?

Robby Anderson, I mean Robbie Anderson, I mean Robbie Chosen, = taller, skinnier Chris Moore. They're both slow 32-y.o. JAGs with bad hands.
