2025 Washington Commanders- All Things Defense

Rotoballers CB vs WR matchup chart... has me wondering.

Is there anyway Lattimore will be shadowing Nabers? Maybe the experts know he is too shifty for his physical style so predict Latts to be matched up vs Slayton most of the day. I would like to see Lattimore allowed to press man/forearm shimmer him a few times to rough him up early in the game.

Wandale is a handful so it will be great first test for our shiny new troy.

Puka is off the chart.

I really don't know how anyone could be down on our defense. Our offense had about 100 yards going into the 4rth against a top 5 offense and it was only a one score game. The score should have been 45 to 10 going into the 4rth.

Special teams are a lot of fun to watch, too. That unit is killing it.

Minus the Kicker ;)

Can we be down on defensive playcalling? It took waaaayy too long for Whitt to decide you know what, let's see if blitzing makes Love uncomfortable. And then suddenly the defense went from awful to alright.

Yes the defensive play calling sucked, so did the offensive play calling.

If we had a good DC, they'd figure out a way to get pressure on Love. Without the pressure he had time to pick apart the DB's (who are not as good as expected, especially with effing Lattimore).

So does our defense need to add help in the backfield or in the front to apply more pressure. After Thursdays game I am thinking we might have all the players in place on the front but our coaching does not know how to put them in the right places to win their match-ups. Staff need to reevaluate themselves.

I don't see any great DBs available that can assist but I do stare at the same defensive player I have been for months, Clowney. He could still bring pressure while helping to control the run game.

I hope they're courting Clowney today, with Wise going down.

Could of sworn I saw a headline last night that the Eagles signed Clowney. I must be losing my mind or I got trolled badly.
There was a shit post out there yesterday titled that. It spoke of Dallas being interested and visiting with him but he could end up on a different NFCE team.

The Eagles signed free agent DE Zadarius Smith after week 1.

We can’t go the season with Baptiste, Jacob Martin and calling up Jalyn Holmes from the PS.

These guys aren’t strong enough to set the edge and put us back to last year in being hurt on the ground.

We need to sign Clowney this week.

Clowney is a better overall player than Smith.

Clowney was signed by the Cowturds for around 6M.

I have no idea why we didn't make a better offer. Apparently this team thinks that they are going to be OK without him. He is above average and pretty cheap. No other reason unless he is some kind of head case.

I do think they believe they're ok with out him... but I also wonder if they have concerns with the personalities clashing? A ton of factors to lead them to believe he's not worth going after.. including the other fact that it takes two to tango. Who's to say Clowney would come here? Who knows.

He is a bit of a headcase but an aggressive GM with balls like Howie would have signed him the next day if his starting DE went down. Get ready for Ferrell…womp womp

Clowney played for the Browns, Titans, Panthers, Ravens, and Seahawks after being drafted by the Texans.

He went to every one of those teams, in series, because they paid the most. So he is a mercenary.

Maybe AP is trying to avoid signing mercs. But if the defense starts looking like it did last year we are going to have questions.
