2024 - Way too early draft thread

Yeah...not sure that is the metric I would use.

There is a lot of front-office ego tied up in the picking of a QB, which is what made the 49ers ditching Lance when they did so unique and noteworthy.

Consider, Daniel Jones got a second contract from the Giants.

So you’re saying that the ‘actual’ hit rate for QBs is lower? I do, too. That is why it surprised me.

My definition of a hit is a player that meets or exceeds their draft position.

I’d love to use Daniel Jones as a great example of this, but that man plays like a pro bowler every time he sees this team. He’s a bum against everyone else though.

That's OK, Tommy DeVito came in and threw like a pro bowler against Washington too

The thing is when you have the 32nd rated defense there's a whole lot of guys that put together tape against the Commanders to show other teams they can play in the NFL.

It doesn’t matter who plays on either side when Washington plays the NYG. Even the officiating crews know that.

First 5 picks are 🔥

Something I was trying to remind myself of today on the eve of the draft is that nothing should come as a surprise. Expect the unexpected is the general rule of thumb at some point over the course of the next three days. We all seem to agree that some positions are guaranteed to get addressed. I was thinking, where might the surprises come from? A sneaky position might be DT. Phil Mathis has given us nothing, and the overall depth behind the starters is suspect. Another might be RB. Statistically speaking, Austin Ekeler had his poorest campaign of his career a season ago, averaging 3.5 yards per carry. If something happened injury wise to BRJr., we could get thin at that position pretty quickly. Overall, I am not saying to prepare yourself for a pick at DT or RB, however, I would be able to make sense of it.

Well, I don’t know how Caleb can still be rated the top pick with all of the love being thrown at Jayden Daniels in recent weeks 🤪
