2024 - Way too early draft thread

This club needs the next franchise LT with a top pick. The bust rate is a lot lower for OL in the top 10 than quarterback.

And unlike a number of the teams with 2-3-4 wins, Washington has a quarterback with 18 touchdowns on the season.

you could talk me into taking 2 or 3 OL in the first 4 rounds next year and then more OL on either day 1 or 2 for the next few years.

I would be shocked if MHJ is there when Washington is on the clock, especially if Chicago stays ahead of them.

Me likely.

I'm betting Sam likely more!

Chicago is drafting a quarterback IMO. They simply haven't learned enough about Justin Fields to make them comfortable about approaching him for a new contract as he enters the back end of his rookie deal.

For the Chicago GM, if he has DJ Moore on one side and Harrison on the other and the team is still scoring 14-17 points a game because of the quarterback, he will be fired.

Watched a bit of the Georgia v Alabama game. I hear Brock is playing hurt, but based on this game I would hate taking him with our first. Not a gamechanger.

If Washington selects a TE in the 1st round I will start watching men’s curling instead of the NFL.

I actually enjoy watching curling. Can't figure out why, but I dig it every Olympics.

If we trade down and draft a DE(not saying we should) Latu from UCLA looks like the best candidate to me. He has to clear the medicals. I’m not super impressed with Jared Verse. Dallas turner is interesting but Latu looks like an absolute menace.

ES is reporting we now own the fourth pick in the first round, but I think it's because the Bears played one less game than us.

Yeah i have to agree, I think the Bears go QB, but I don't know that it's the right move.

They're on Bye, we have the same number of wins, but more losses, so our win % is lower than theirs giving us the 4th pick currently... but they play Detroit next weekend and we're on bye, so likely that we're both 4-9 going into week 16.

If we stay put with a top 5 pick as much as I want Bowers, I would go LT’s Alt or Fashanu, or Edge Latu (medical pending).

Interesting note that I heard from the commentators working the SF v Philly game today.

San Fran's 3 straight losses came when they were without Trent Williams.

There are a lot of highly talented guys on that team who have been on the injury report this year. McAffery is one of the best over-all RBs in the game. Deebo is one of the most versatile "big" WRs out there. Kittle is arguably one of the Top 3 TEs playing. And I won't even try to name all the big-play guys on that defense.

They are undefeated when Williams plays and winless when he doesn't.

Just saying...

Right and how many players in that 2010 draft are still playing at the 'sexy' positions such as WR, edge rusher, linebacker, etc.

A franchise OT can play 10-15 years in the NFL and make things a helluva lot easier for the offense, whatever scheme they decide to run.

Jason Peters is still starting in the NFL at age 41. Amazing.
