Kids really facing a who's who of pass rushers to start his career.

If anyone thinks OT is the reason we lost in Green Bay and are vulnerable going forward just isn’t watching closely.

The WRs got no separation and Terry ‘Money Bags’ McLaurin has 4 catches and zero impact in two games.

On defense Whitt couldn’t figure out the Packers one receiving threat was a freakin’ tight end and get this guy buttoned up.

For some reason Peters is just not going to draft, trade for or sign a pass rusher and general disruptor for the defense.

We have #7 round picks and 36 year old players at DE as the depth behind Wise, himself a 31 year old run stuffer.

So I go back to those 9 picks from 2024 and see 3 of the higher picks to one degree or another failing to launch.

Right now the team can count on Daniels and Sainristil.

We need more from our young picks.

And I think we all knew Ekeler was not going to hold up as the primary back for 17 games.

He didn’t play 17 games last year in a specialist role in the pass offense.

I was hoping we were going to keep adding impact younger players in draft to grow with Daniels.

Instead we traded a bevy of picks for older veterans.

Tunsil is the only guy we really needed to go out and get as LT is one of the hardest positions to fill with quality.

I would rather draft our corners and WRs or sign them in free agency rather than adding 30 year olds likely to be gone by the time Daniels is entering his prime.

I don’t see Deebo or Lattimore here next year.

Lattimore is definitely gone. It’s a shame we got him when we got him. He was such a stud for so long.

On Deebo, depending on what we do in FA, we may potentially get a comp pick higher than the pick we gave up depending on how he finishes the season

Agree on Lattimore, who I come to see as Lattiless.

Deebo is arguably the most obvious positive contributor up to this point. Retaining him will most likely be strictly a monetary decision.

I think the Deebo decision may also come down to how fast Lane evolves. Then again, I suspect Peters plan is to re-sign him. After all, trading picks for a one-year is bad business.

Any updates on Bates? It's funny how he's grown from Mr. 50/50 to an important Donnie Warren-style blocking TE. Who'd have thunk in a passing league that would still be such an important role?

As of last night, i believe Quinn said it's a long shot for him to play. Crosby is an animal, so I'd imagine having him out there would be a big help, especially if Jayden is limited in his movement, or if we roll Mariota who's clearly not as elusive as Jayden (but does have a little giddy up).

Groin is soft tissue, and Bates' entire game is predicated on his ability to plant and block, or move laterally, both of which likely arent very fun if your base is compromised.

This will be an interesting game - the shackles come off Sinnott as he is needed now.

And if he gets eaten alive and is replaced by Yankoff during the game I think it goes a long way to show where we are at TE.

They play different positions. At 225, Yankoff cannot play in line TE like Sinnott can. I view Yankoff as more a F TE / H Back type

I think they are both going to see action and be given some opportunity. Sinnott should see fairly significant blocking duties

You would hope. Right now I limit my expectations. I have been disappointed when I thought the obvious thing would be done by this O. I really hope you are right though. They need a solid strategy at least as a backup if they can’t fully dictate. Last week it seemed they tried to dictate and couldn’t. I’m fine if they try whatever at first but I would like to see they have some backup plans ready in case, for example, MM faces too much pressure. I think most of us are concerned about the same thing.

Yes they need a good game plan and a fall back play. More importantly they need to be able to read what the defense is throwing at them and adjust accordingly.

I am more comfortable with our current regimes abilities to adjust to opponents than we experienced with not so long ago past buffoons.

I expect Ertz and SInnott to be both be more heavily used to block

He does. Unfortunately Bates is the only TE known as a good blocker. Assuming he is out, Sinnott and Ertz are going to need to be involved in in-line blocking and much more chipping and hope they can hold up. I expect Trent Scott to be lined up at TE on clear run plays.
