Curtis Samuel has talked to the 49ers, Rams and a couple other teams but he still doesn't have a deal. Wonder what he is asking for.

I bet it is high #2 wideout money. Teams are looking at this draft as being very good for WR talent and saying no to that type of contract.
Whether us draft someone say in the second round like Coleman from FSU or Worthy from Texas; guys with tons of potential for obviously way less money and can be just as good as Samuel sooner rather than later.

Buffalo just made liars of us all with his signing.

Have to remember Buffalo has a woody for Washington players over the years.

Tim Settle is still there at DT.

Trent Murphy didn’t produce much for them.

Lorenzo Alexander went there too

Bills were the opposite of Washington. They had no cap space and let a ton of 30 year olds go.

So much for retaining Samuel....

Once again I'm wondering what we are doing offensively.

Well, from the draft mocks and player profiles it seems this is a weak draft for running backs, defensive ends and safeties.

So we used FA to stock there.

We also used FA for OC and LG as capable players who were under 30 were available.

This draft is on the other hand deep at quarterback, wide receiver and tackle.

So, I expect these to be the spots we look to use our top picks on.

I would add that the second wave of free agency yields a bit older but cheaper alternatives after the draft.

Whatever we don’t get in April we could very well get in May.

Been considering that as well. So much still depends on what kind of QB and scheme we're looking to run. The specific body types and skill sets we'll be looking to add are TBD still, but as of March 15 and NOT knowing what kind of QB/scheme we'll be running ... beyond still needing starting LT and RT's (minor detail), I'm thinking we'll be targeting:

- a playmaking 3rd-down and change-up RB with serious quicks and good hands. I bet we draft at least one in the mid- or later rounds, plus cycle through a number of UDFA's and players grabbed from waivers, etc.
- an athletic, pass-catching TE to grow up under Ertz' tutelage.
- a big-bodied possession WR with hops enough to be a sideline and end-zone fade threat.

Seems Samuel’s role, as we originally thought intended, is now being occupied by Ekeler.

Eckler is 29....not saying he can't catch, but I don't recall him being much of a receiving back. He does reunite with Lynn so that should help

Ekeler as a slot receiver is a mismatch for defenses.

He has 3,884 receiving yards in his career and 30 touchdowns through the air.

I would say he is a good weapon in space.

Mike - you need to relook. Ekeler is as good a receiver as he is a rushing back.

Ekeler is a damn solid option as a change-up RB1, and multi-use RB2. And I suspect he'll see a lot of screens and get deployed all over the place. But he's not Pacheco-mold electric guy(s) I think we'll likely still add.

What am I missing here? Not 1000 rushing or recovering

Yep, as I indicated the stats are excellent - almost 4,000 receiving yards and 30 touchdowns.

One year he had 990 plus yards receiving on 90 catches.

Another year he had a combined 21 touchdowns from scrimmage.

Who beats these numbers that was available for what Peters paid or even close?

He’s a RB who can catch the ball. He shouldn’t be expected to put up WR #’s.

Some folks are just tone deaf on new acquisitions when it means a roster player has to go or won't be resigned.

I guess I'm not seeing your point. He hasn't hit 1000 yards at either so which is he?

4k in 7 years makes it around 600 per year. Is that really exciting?

So, John. This is the second personal attack by this guy. I asked yesterday for him to stop but it's obvious he doesn't want to just address me putting up my opinion and stats without making it personal
