2023 Washington Roster Moves

Sounds like Montez thinks his time in DC may be coming to a close...

The past tense stands out to me. Is something in the works?

I wonder if Charles' trip to IR is a face saving demotion?

That’s just dumb. Even if they pull off a win, it shouldn’t change things. They just lost to the awful Giants who had a backup QB and a bunch of lineman off the street. 1 game isn’t changing the outlook for this team.

Here we go....

3 more days of this

And Chase Young to the Bears is apparently a thing

this makes NO sense to me as the Bears aren't a pass rusher away from contending, but if they want to give us a 2nd round pick, who am I to judge? I'll take it.

A high pick at that. A high 3rd round pick would be worth it. Obviously a second would be a steal. But a 3rd that high is almost a full round above the comp pick.

i don't think we even get any comp picks from the upcoming FA class. $90M in cap space with (hopefully) a new front office? They're gonna be buyers with a lot of roster spots to address. It's very possible that moves are made that would cancel out any compensatory picks we may be entitled to, so the getting may not be 'great' but it's gotta be a factor for the Harris group, as they navigate the next few months

Even more reason to do that. Now, we don’t know exactly what they offered. But you are right about possibly not even getting comp picks. So anything if value is worth making the deal.

Bears feel flush with draft picks because they own Caolims first. If they think Chase has recovered and could still be the player once envisioned then a 2nd is a long term steal.

The question is how good do you think Chase os and how much of his underperformance os due to coaching malpractice. Frankly, the Bears demolishing is probably help in making Chicago think most of the problem is with the coaching.

First time I’ve seen Payne reported

A third to me would be a fire sale. I might be okay getting nothing vs. getting a third. Ten sack linemen are valuable. Make a real offer.

Yeah - a 3rd is not enough for Sweat.

I don't know what to think....

No big contracts for Sweat, Young or ANYONE else until a new GM comes in and evaluates the team.

If Washington gives up 30 plus points to good teams this regularly then how many players on the defense deserve top 5-10 deals?

Washington makes believe before every season they have a top 10 defense and then vomit all over themselves during the season and finish in the 20's.

I am sick and tired of this *****.

I don't care if Young or Sweat is traded, yeah - getting a #4 pick back is not enough as we get a #3 as a comp pick.

But again, no big contracts for these guys until we see the change in regime to determine who is part of the problem and who is part of the solution.

Magic Johnson is right - this team under Rivera has developed a culture of losing and accepting losing. It's the same excuses week in and week out for a number of players.
