2023 Washington Roster Moves

I could never be a kicker. How any of those guys make kicks in a win or lose high pressure scenario is beyond me. But yeah, that does seem to be the issue - just randomly loses focus. Hopefully putting the heat on himself in 2022 will lead to him being a lot more focused this season.
 
I'm still not convinced they won't stun everyone and trade Chase Young before season's start. I'd ask for a 3rd and 4th rounder and make it happen.

Not with all of their jobs on the line.
 
That's a valid point. And it's not like Rivera has been anything close to 'Riverboat' when it comes to player deals and trades. He couldn't have been more conservative (not to mention, you've got NFL dinosaurs in the front office who aren't likely to do anything daring).
 
Just to be supportive and contrarian at the same time. Trading Young might well be a Harris-style move.

If we look at Philly didn’t he cut all his major assets and do a major tear down as part of his rebuild. Now, just to be contrary to my own contrariness, Harris might approve of the trade, but still see it (and the need for a major tear down) as being an unsurvivable strike against Rivera.

I mean if he’s had four years to build it and his best move is to blow it up then he probably isn’t the future.
 
I feel that Harris is all rainbows and puppy dogs right now with his main current goal being to bring fans back and create good vibrations. Trading one of the teams most recognizable and popular players (despite his performance) before the season starts…I just don’t see it.

If there was still time on his contract after the season I could buy it, but there isn’t.

Well, stupid moves can be both conservative or daring. Sam Darnold or Mitch Trubisky would've been conservative. Wentz was daring. All pointless and dumb.
 
I still think the Wentz trade was all Snyder despite Ron covering for him.

Taking into consideration Haskins and the RGIII fiasco as well as Donovan McNabb, Snyder's manipulation of the moves at quarterback more than anything else on the field consigned this team to consistent third and fourth place finishes in the NFC East.
 
Certainly possible. Can you imagine Joe Gibbs letting an owner tell him who his QB was going to be? If Rivera did allow Snyder to direct QB acquisitions, that's pretty weak.
 
Well, the team was in on Russell Wilson first. And with the way Wilson played last year in Denver, can you imagine owing him $165M over the next 4-5 years?

Whenever you saw Washington going after an old 'name' player in the NFL it was almost invariably a Snyder-led exercise.
