Yeah the plan remains never underestimate the Commanders ability to f*** things up.
 
I was surprised by the Ioaniddis departure too, but I just read the Pete Hailey article on NBC Washington site which said...

"... Under Rivera, unfortunately, Ioannidis hasn't maintained the level of production he achieved before Rivera took over.
In 2020, he appeared in just three games before heading to injured reserve, and in 2021, he mustered just 2.5 quarterback takedowns."

So I'm guessing they think they can get better production at a lower price elsewhere. Maybe they have their eyes on the draft to replace the depth on the D Line, considering that they'll have to pay Sweat and Young at some point in the near future.

Also, with Wentz under center, we're not looking at contention this year really. If we draft a QB this year, then it's widely regarded that it'll take a year to develop any of them. Or we wait for next year's draft using Wentz as a bridge. Either way, that takes us closer to paying Sweat and Young, and also gives any DLine rookies we get this year (does anyone know if it's a deep draft in that regard?) a year to bed in prior to us maybe finding that elusive franchise QB.

Flowers moving on is almost the bigger surprise for me. I figured we'd move on from Scherff, but I really thought we'd stick with the rest of the OLine.

This team deserves any/all reactions it gets. If I broke a mirror and cut my piggy toe off it would be just the right reaction for how this org runs
 
JD McKissic is back... reportedly. Chosen to stay with Washington on the same deal as the Bills.
