Somehow though it will end up being Lebron James' or the Heat's fault. ;)
 
I didn't get to see the game - but wow. A sweep. This was not a close game either - seems like the Lakers were totally dominated.

So what happened With Bynum and Odom? Why were they ejected?
 
Odom ejected for a hard foul on Nowitzki. Bynum ejected for a taking out Barera on a drive to the hoop, with a flying elbow, less than one minute later.
 
Thanks Chris. I'm sure there will be replays of those incidents and will check them out sometime later.

Seems like the dynasties are coming to an end and a torch is being passed. OKC, Memphis, and Chicago could be at a point where they could challenge for championships in the years ahead. Dallas has some older players, but could be in the mix for two or three years - and certainly this year.

Miami is a team that I think will implode over a period of time, but it could work if egos are kept in check.

As for other teams, like the Wizards, a lot will depend on where Dwight Howard could go in FA this summer and how the lottery picks unfold. Interesting times.
 
Mitch Kupchak is probably on the phone with Otis Smith right now offering the entire roster, minus Kobe, for Dwight.

As he should. But we don't want Pau--he's a sissy. However, if he adds a L to his first name, we might consider him.

And we don't welcome trash like Bynum in this city.
 
I don't think such a deal would go down, but you never know. It wouldn't be surprising to see DH go to a team that is up and coming like OKC, Chicago, Memphis, and it is probably a longshot - the Wizards. He won't go to Miami for obvious reasons. Lakers are in decline, so that is not an option. Same for the Spurs and Celtics.

I could see him staying in the conference and going to the Bulls. That team has nothing but upside and with Howard, it could be the beginning of a very strong dynasty.
 
BB....nobody on earth wants to play with the Wizards. No one wants to coach that team, and no player wants their career to die. Orioles fans have been holding out hope for 30 years too.

Dwight despises cold weather. So teams like Boston, NY and the Nets are probably out. Chicago is also cold, so they are probably out. And, they would have to give up most of their current roster to land him.

LA probably makes the most sense. I imagine they would offer Bynum, Gasol, and a bunch of first rounders for him. I believe Kobe would be on board with that.
 
Atlanta making it a good series against Chicago. Ditto for Memphis and OKC. Nice to see some new teams in the mix.

LA makes a run for Howard and offers everything but Kobe and Shannon Brown. Theyll resign Brown and he will be the third man. everyone else is as good as gone including Fisher.

Very fair point, Mike. Plus, I don't think Bynum is trash, just a young guy who made a stupid decision. It was really Barera's fault, he was driving the Lakers crazy. :)

The Magic have another problem nearly as serious as losing Howard. Otis Smith has destroyed their cap. What team is going to take on the formidable contracts of Arenas and Turkoglu? And Jason Richardson is now a free agent, isn't he?

I don't see how they convince Dwight to stay, but if he bolts the Magic will become the Wizards.

There's definitely some appeal of being a franchise savior I would say - not to mention that Howard & Wall would be quite the formidable combination.
 
The Heat get their co-captain, their sixth man, and their soul back tonight. :)
 
I would try to compare Udonis Haslem's value to the franchise to a Laker but no one comes to mind. Maybe Perkins with the Celtics is a fair comparison.

Well, that certainly did stink very much. At some point, I hope LeBum and Co. exit the playoffs. I really don't want him to ever, ever win a championship.

Shaq is out for tonights game. His calf is worse, not better.

It looks like Monday nights 4 minutes, zero points, and zero rebounds could be the final appearance of his career.
